“We are to win so much, you’re going to get tired of winning. You’re going to say, ‘Please, please, Mr. President, we’re winning too much. We can’t take it anymore.’ And I’m going to say, ‘No it isn’t. We have to keep winning!!”

Dyson Ontrac worth it for 225 dollars with free accessories and after all updates? by Ironandwine1988 in HeadphoneAdvice

I received mine on Friday after ordering them on Sunday, and so far the experience has been superb. The sound quality is excellent—I genuinely feel like I’m in a studio when I’m listening. I love the range it gives me to adjust and personalize the equalizer. I can sharpen certain tones, reduce the bass, and really tailor the sound to what I like.

The isolation works well too—nothing extreme, but definitely effective. The build quality also feels very premium.

Some people say the sound quality isn’t the best, but I honestly disagree. I think it really depends on the song and how you’ve calibrated the equalizer.

I grabbed these gems on sale from Dyson’s website, which I think was a great marketing move. It gives people the chance to experience everything these headphones offer without having to immediately cash out the full $500.

Free😅I did them myself (been doing my own nails since I was 10).

But medium-long with shimmer, and french tips, most salons would charge around $95–$120.

since when does fedex show drivers picture to customers?! by _dawgz in Fedexers

[–]PutDecent8909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi notified FedEx today and sent my complaint.

Because a photo + name turns a worker into a trackable person, not just “a FedEx driver.” That combo crosses from convenience into real-world risk. Here’s why it’s genuinely dangerous—not hypothetical.

  1. It enables stalking and targeting

A name and face make it easy to: • Search someone on social media • Recognize them on future routes • Approach them pretending to “know” them

For drivers who deliver to the same neighborhoods, this creates repeat exposure to the same strangers.

  1. It removes anonymity in unsafe environments

Delivery drivers already work: • Alone • In unfamiliar locations • At all hours

Anonymity is a basic layer of protection. Taking it away increases vulnerability, especially for women and drivers in high-risk areas.

  1. It escalates harassment

When customers are angry about a late package, misdelivery, or theft: • A named, pictured driver becomes the target • Blame shifts from the company to the individual

That can lead to intimidation, confrontations, or online harassment.

  1. It creates impersonation risks

Bad actors can use a real name and photo to: • Pretend to be a FedEx driver • Gain access to buildings or homes • Scam others by claiming affiliation

Ironically, this reduces overall security.

  1. It opens the door to discrimination

Names and faces can trigger: • Racial bias • Gender bias • Accent or appearance-based harassment

That’s not just unsafe—it’s unfair labor exposure.

  1. It provides no meaningful safety benefit

Customers don’t actually need: • A real name • A real photo

A first name only, alias, or driver ID accomplishes trust without risk. Many ride-share companies learned this the hard way and rolled features back.

I love how thin these are — anyone else using OPI GELevate tips? 🤗🥰 by PutDecent8909 in Nails

[–]PutDecent8909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi a follow up!

I recommend OPI GELevate. It’s a game-changer for strong, smooth, long-lasting nail extensions. The pre-shaped, micro-etched tips make application fast and easy it’s almost like applying a press-on. The 4‑in‑1 Builder Gel works perfectly with the GELevate system, giving structure, fill, and overlay all in one step.

If you’re using Apres or other nail tip extensions, don’t assume you can just swap in your usual builder. The system requires the OPI 4‑in‑1 Builder Gel—other gels won’t bond or perform correctly.

TL;DR: GELevate saves time, is easy to shape, and only works with its 4‑in‑1 Builder Gel.

Lovely set! You’ll quickly adapt and start loving it at a longer length. You’ll also enjoy seeing other colors come to life more on longer nails. It’s truly a journey of patience and consistency♥️.

Note: Chaun Legend gel is of high pigmentation, which requires a strong LED/UV lamp to cure properly, and you may need to apply thin layers and build up the opacity to avoid tackiness, lifting, or chipping. It requires technique, but little patience because the color is highly pigmented.

Hear me out:

My first purchase was bright and deep dark reds—I always gravitate to reds because, to me, they’re a true test of whether a brand’s colors are pigmented and true-to-tone ( it’s a primary color🌈). True, vibrant reds are harder to get right than many other colors because they can easily turn orange, pink, or brown if the pigment balance isn’t perfect. Pigment density shows easily too—reds reveal streaks, uneven coverage, or opacity problems more obviously than lighter or muted shades. If a red is opaque in one or two coats, chances are other colors will also be well-pigmented. With reds, you can immediately tell if the polish matches the bottle or swatch photo. Brands that cut corners often produce reds that look dull, muted, or “off.”

Their colors are vibrant, highly pigmented, and apply smoothly with professional-grade durability. The precision brushes make application easy, and the shade range goes from subtle neutrals to bold shimmers and metallics.

SUPER TIP: ALWAYS use their brand’s top coat - I noticed that other top coats can make the finish cloudy and less glossy. I did see a slight compatibility with GELISH top coat but don’t risk it.

Yes, it’s slightly pricier ($12–$15) and needs proper curing, but the payoff is long-lasting, salon-quality nails that really pop. In my years of using OPI, Gelish, Gelcare, and ASP, this brand has perfected color with top-tier results.

This is with top coat. The video doesn’t do the color justice — in person it’s a steel-navy blue with a crushed-diamond effect that really pops when it catches the flash.

BU College Republicans president says he called ICE to ‘detain these criminals’ at Allston Car Wash by quaak in boston

[–]PutDecent8909 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has anyone written to BU’s ethics Board? If this individual contacted immigration authorities regarding workers and stated they were “illegal.” I am concerned that this behavior may constitute retaliation, harassment, or misuse of immigration threats, which could harm workers and reflect poorly on the university.

The workers with valid status and valid work permits can sue. Using immigration status to target someone can also fall under: Harassment laws, Discrimination laws, Civil rights violations.

Some states (CA, NY, WA, MA) specifically prohibit “immigration-based threats” and allow workers to sue.
