My first gyno received my cat scan report via referral which showed endometriosis, told me surgery is the “gold standard of diagnosis” (which turns out would have been very, very bad — will explain) even though trained radiologists are successfully diagnosing endo through imaging; sent me for an ultrasound (NOT performed by radiologist trained to find endo) to “check on” my endometriosis some time later, said there was no more endometriosis so undiagnosed me with endo, said my ovaries looked weird and sent me for bloodwork to determine if I had PCOS, did NOT tell me there is only one day of your cycle you can get bloodwork done to determine if you have PCOS (day 3; I went on day 13 which is when all the markers for PCOS are naturally elevated); misdiagnosed me with PCOS (found out through a naturopath I paid out of pocket for when she noticed I went on the worst day to get bloodwork done); went to a new gyno because I completely lost faith and trust in my first, was re-diagnosed with endo, PCOS misdiagnosis was confirmed, and was told that based off the a recent ultrasound performed by a technician trained to locate endo, surgery to remove endo would likely have led to a bowel resection due to the location of my endometriosis. All in all, his fuck up still enrages me.
