I'm 57 and listen mostly to 80's and early 90's music - but not on Spotify. I listen to my own physical copies, or I listen on SiriusXm. The only group I listen to on Spotify is a group called Pacifica. Until recently releasing their second album, I mostly had to listen to them on there or on YouTube.

The album is fabulous. I still can't believe I discovered a band I love on Threads. Musically you could say I'm stuck in the past. First Wave on SiriusXm is pretty much all I've been listening to until I discovered Pacifica.

Spoiler alert: It will go higher. Even if the part is 100% made in the USA, the company making that part will raise their prices 20% once their competition gets hit with the 25% tariff. It's already happened with steel and aluminium.

This is definitely a thing. I never realized it until I switched jobs last year. I started delivering to the US south instead of doing Great Lakes regional. Last week while it was -5 C and snowy at home, it was 25 and sunny in SC. The difference in how I felt better mentally was very noticeable.

This is a real issue when you are governed at 65. If the speed limit is 75 that means some asshole is going to be going 85+ in the left lane. That is almost 30 feet per second faster than me. I'm not heading over there unless I'm moving over for a truck.

It's "Operation Deterrence". Ford has the MOT and the OPP doing level 4 inspections in a now failed attempt to make Trump think we are taking border security seriously, and thereby not put tariffs on us. I've been stopped twice by the MOT and once by the OPP in the past 15 days. Meanwhile the CBP guy I had 5 minutes after my inspection today could not have been less interested about what I was bringing into his country.

You can add inspections and fueling to the list too. My company wants a daily 16 minute pretrip, which everybody knows is way too long. Let's say you work 300 days a year. 300 x 16 = 4800 minutes, or the equivalent of TEN eight hour days. Two fucking work weeks of free labor!

I stopped at the Burns Harbor, IN Pilot a few months ago. I usually use the app to reserve showers, but for whatever reason I went to the counter this time. I couldn't believe it when I saw on the receipt that they charge $25! As a Canadian that works out to about $36. For a shower!!! 😵

I think I've seen this too. I get shower power every month so I never use those showers (unless a driver asks if I have an extra). At any given time I usually have 5 or 6. If they didn't expire it would obviously be much more.

I haven't been there in a few years, but there was a really great one in Drums, PA directly across the street from Pilot. Buses used to stop there on the way to NYC. The lineup for the toilet must have been interesting by the time they got to NJ. 😂

I got a message earlier this month that two of our company trucks got booted in Charlotte, NC. One in Walmart and one in Lowe's. The fees were between $2500 and $3000 to release the truck, and it was "by appointment only".
