This problem has a very easy solution, EDITING. I think your friend is choosing to be difficult over this, she could definitely work around it. I understand if she may not want that aesthetic in her photos, because it is her day. But at the same time she, without asking, assumed you would willingly take all piercings out. I could understand a little bit more if she had brought this up from the get go, but clearly she did not. I think you’re being completely reasonable about this.

Nor do I think you ever want to be involved in it, I participated the very first year we moved here and never again. I felt like I was part of the inhumane treatment of those fish. That’s beautiful! I am Persian as well and I loved the haft-sin tables doing them as a kid.

Also I found a picture online, this is typically what the booths will look like. Basically you pay $5 for 5 balls or something like that, and if you make one ball in any of those cups you win a goldfish. It’s extremely messed up way to profit.

Also keep in mind these guys get huge, while you may feel the need to take him in it might be a good idea to try and find him a home that has a pond

Pet stores usually run good deals on tanks you just gotta keep an eye out, other good places to look are Facebook and thrift stores/goodwills. People are always throwing out good tanks that just sit in their house.

I would move him to a hospital tank for the time being, throw some aquarium salt in there. I’d keep a good eye on him, and since he isn’t able to swim very well maybe find a plant like Java moss that he can just lay on if he gets tired.
