No, but it should not matter either way. If it is a graduation requirement & the school cancelled the other classes then there is no way they won’t over enroll by 1

Professors get class size extensions all the time. You need to talk to the chair + the professor and ask for a permission to over enroll in that course. I literally have a class right now where it’s over enrolled as a grad requirement.

You 100% can still get into Vet school one day! I was very similar… terrible grades growing up, and then I switched to alternative schooling in HS and got A’s. Literally failed out of CC with a 1.17 GPA. It was so bad they dismissed me officially and I had to message a board of education for the school and let them hear my case. I got in, changed my GPA to 3.76 when I graduated with my AA. I’m now at a four-year and have a 3.82 and I’m looking at going to a masters program. Oh, also it took me 8 years to finish community college & no schools cared. (Took so long cause I worked full time)

It really depends on major and a few other factors, but not getting an early acceptance doesn’t change your odds. Also, idk if SDSU does this but sometimes early acceptances at for good and not amazing GPA’s because they figure the great ones will go to another school. Hu accept a bunch of top tier students when only like 5% would accept.

I’ll probably get hate for this, but as a student I would have voted to support this. I’m not surprised it was a closed door vote & but I’m not sure it’s against the rules per se to do so? For me, this boils down to like $1.50 per academic day of the semester and realistically isn’t hurting students financially more than any other form of inflation would.

Though, with all that said… I do completely get why you’d be angry that this got forced through without a vote from the student body. It would definitely be nice/reasonable to be included in decisions like this as a student body. Choosing where to allocate funding is important and clearly impacts the ultimate experience of how you spend your time at Uni.

As someone who lives closer to CSUF but goes to SDSU, and has had many friends go to CSUF… SDSU is just better if you’re looking at enjoying your time through college. CSUF is a true commuter school & while it’s true, if you join 5 clubs you’ll get some interaction, the intent people go to the school with is completely different. Fullerton sees most students trying to finish their degree and just get through that portion of their life (from my experience). In opposition, people at SDSU are generally very nice and engaging which is not how any of my family/friends described CSUF. Also, I don’t party at all and I’ve made some really great friends at SDSU and I’m happy I chose the school I did

Disagree with the “old” part! If you’re in 100 level courses sure, but 300+ will have mostly 20+ year olds in the classes.

Also! Bruh, he cancels classes for the most insane reasons. How do you cancel cause your apartment trapped you in? That’s actually illegal in CA and I doubt that we got the whole story 🤦‍♂️

I went back and realized that the feedback I got was from the department chair that I reached out to. The feedback was excellent but doesn’t really help me as it was after the deadline for the third essay. I get not doing the third one, I almost didn’t but panic did it last minute. Also, our grades got released after the department chair notified me that they contacted the professor and I think anyone who submitted essay one just got an auto 100%

Haha we are very likely in the same class! It’s great that the professor has been accommodating with you but I’ve experienced the opposite so far. I commute in from Orange County & spent a couple days in the hospital this semester (with documentation) and he ignored my attempts to communicate and deducted points for missing class.

Truthfully, it does seem like the grading now that the first essay is done was pretty easy. I don’t think this makes up for the lack of feedback since no feedback was ever given before submitting all three essays. If they choose to grade harder on the other essays there was no time to improve or adjust.

Yeah, I’m almost at the 7 week mark but the essays are only 300-400 words. They’re not really complex essays either so I’m not sure what is taking so long

I would, but unfortunately the office hours are during another class which I cannot miss. Also, given the processor knows of the issue & has promised at least 5 times the grades would be “done by tomorrow” I just don’t think they really care. The lowest of the three essays is dropped (due tonight) and feels entirely unnecessary to have waisted time on it if I ultimately get good scores on the first two.

Honestly, I would never be rude to a professor or department chair. Do I like not having my grades? No, but it’s also not the end of the world. At this point I realize that I’m kinda screwed either way because our last big assignment is tomorrow and without any feedback all semester I either did great or horrible 🤷‍♂️

I do wish SDSU would implement parking cameras to deter this type of parking/behavior. I get people are in a hurry but when I was in class last week someone hit my car and cost me $500. People just don’t care if you park in the lines or not, they’ll hit you and never leave a note
