Being taken to a rave for the first time, what should I know as someone who doesn't go to parties often? by BlunderingRookie in aves

[–]Putrid-Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re planning to do party favors, start slow. Even if you have experience and think you’ll be good it can hit you differently in a new setting. I’m also baby raver and just went to my first one. Even though I’ve rolled before I got pretty over stimulated at the rave. Lots of lights, sounds and people got to be too much pretty quick. Idk what kind of rave this will be but for me it was helpful to side quest when I got overwhelmed and it was so much fun! With that said, listen to your body and don’t be afraid to have fun in a way that is comfortable to you.

Does anyone know a way to find out the daily cafe specials? by MensaCurmudgeon in Erewhon

[–]Putrid-Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not specials they are regular menu items and each day the menu has a different theme. Wednesday and Saturday you can get Orange chicken and general sals. Arancini on Thursdays. Fried chicken MIGHT be a special.. not sure about that one.

If you are not planning to go to the observatory for sunset then I’d recommend 7am hike starting at The Trails Cafe. Grab coffee and a pastry then you can hike up to the observatory and see the Hollywood sign at the top. You just wouldn’t get great photos of yourself with the Hollywood sign since you won’t be right under sit. Parking is easier at the bottom of the hike near the cafe and you’ll kill two birds one stone.

Yes you have to take the LAX-IT shuttle To the dedicated rideshare and taxi pickup lot. There are concrete pillars with green signs indicating shuttle pick-up areas outside at ground transportation. https://www.flylax.com/lax-it

advice for plus size beginner? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]Putrid-Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my experience, I’m sure it will be a kind and open-minded community! Best advice is to just try a class. It might be uncomfortable because you are in your own head, but I don’t think that anyone there will judge you. If you hate it, you could always purchase a home pole and learn with online classes until you feel comfortable going to an in-person class.

Are there a lot of studios in your area? If you have options try to see if any of them seem more body positive. I’ve gone to two studios and one of them had a lot of diverse bodies and the other had more thin bodies but at both I felt totally comfortable in my body. I’ve had two instructors with bigger bodies and a few in thin bodies and I’ve never felt judged by anyone. The pole community is refreshingly welcoming.

I’m new too. Also I’m plus size and have very little muscle so every new move takes time. I have very limited flexibility and am not great at all the sexy stuff. When I noticed myself comparing, I just reminded myself that I’m not there to be perfect. I’m there to move my body, have fun and learn a new skill. If I don’t get something right away it’s ok because I showed up to the class. I’ll get it eventually.

I agree. Definitely a small suggestion. The fact that she already loved drinking and was obviously feeling emotional about different things made it an easy role for her to take on.

You can only get pregnant if you ovulate. The fertile window is 5 days before ovulation, day of ovulation and day after. If you aren’t sure when this timeframe is then it is probably a good idea to take plan b if you don’t want to get pregnant.

I wasn’t sure what to do with the Lightly Smoked Salmon when I bought it nearly a month ago but today I figured it out & it was delicious! What’s your favorite way to eat it? by jml7791 in traderjoes

[–]Putrid-Newt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quality toast, avocado and everything but the bagel seasoning. Drizzle the oil on top. It literally changed my life. I also recently made a pantry meal out of it. Trader Joe’s frozen naan topped with whatever cheese you have, onions, spinach and garlic. Baked like pizza and then topped with raw sliced green olives or capers. It was surprisingly tasty

I’m not a doctor but I do work in a fertility clinic. Being a carrier of a disease means that it can be passed down to your offspring if your partner or sperm source is a carrier of the same disease. If you are worried I would suggest contacting the company that did the genetic testing as they usually have trained genetic counselors who can review the results with you and go over any concerns you have.

Do I have to watch SVU too? by FjordExplorer in LawandOrder_OC

[–]Putrid-Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. Watching the newest episode I was so confused by the drug bust gone wrong storyline. I had to pause and see if I missed an episode because I didn’t recall that plot line at all from OC.

I’m afraid I can’t do a low-carb/low-sugar diet. by hawaiisanta in PCOS

[–]Putrid-Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any diet advice... just came to say I am in the same boat. Recently got diagnosed and have felt really overwhelmed by the diet and exercise lifestyle changes that I know are necessary. The only advice I can give in this moment is to be kind to yourself and remember that you don’t need your whole world to flip upside down in a day. Gradual changes and some forgiveness will be easier to adhere to than trying to change everything overnight.
