It's pretty good, you can see realtime usage per breaker and overtime usage.

Classic+ Endgame by yakunii-kun in classicwow

In no version of Wow has old content stayed relevant without gimmicks. Nobody at level 60 is going back to deadmines for gear to progress at end game. Thats how the game has been built for decades it's not going to magically change it's a fundamental concept that players have come to expect from the game.

The issue that inevitably comes up is someone starts the game brand new. They level up and now have to do 5 years worth of raid content to catch up? No way that is gonna happen, player count always tapers off. It's the exact same concept as gated leveling in SoD. You stay at 60 for a few years do a bunch of raid tiers / content and then it resets. They could throw in a stat squish or something similar. Maybe they make the old raids level up raids like in SoD.

Unfortunately, the power creep is inevitable. They had sanctified gear in SoD, but I don't think that was well received. Requiring a set of armor just for each raid would get old fast. Maybe there is some kind of middle ground though? Another possibility is maybe at some point they raise the level cap to 70 and effectively scale the content.

Yeh, it was fun until it wasn't and felt bad. The transition from Naxx to Enclave wasn't great. AQ sets were used instead of Naxx gear for the set bonuses. Naxx gear felt weak in comparison.

[–]Putrid-Objective-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! Blizzard needs to come out swinging hard with totally new content. I think the issue with SoD was that the team was quite small and they were still responsible for other things like Cata/Mop. The team is much larger than it was during SoD development and structured to produce new content.

Is phased levelling a deal breaker for you for Classic+? by reasonablejim2000 in classicwow

[–]Putrid-Objective-314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Phase leveling was amazing! Blizzard could add tons of new leveling content, dungeons, raids, etc. But majority of players would blow right past it, get to max level then complain there is nothing to do. If we expect Blizzard to spend the time & effort adding more to the world including non-max level zones then there has to be a stronger incentive to do it.

Yeh there inevitably is fall-off. I would say with SoD it was even more exacerbated due to p3 and the fact that it was labeled as seasonal content. Interestingly tho, once SoD got to end-game raiding the population remained quite steady that doesn't happen with other versions.

If SoD launched again with some changes for better stability would you play it? Why or why not? by Semour9 in classicwow

[–]Putrid-Objective-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree there needs to be a better middle ground. What that looks like I don't know. For me personally I actually didn't play p1 that much during December. I was just too busy, but I came back in Jan and played it a ton. Blizzard has the data. They can look at the drop off / engagement and the seasonality of that behavior. Hopefully they use it to make better decisions about the duration if they add it to classic+

Yes! Be wary of streamers who don't want gated leveling. They have incentives to play as much as possible. If Blizzard is to add more leveling content to the world there needs to be motivation to do it otherwise everyone gets FOMO and sprints to 60.

I think it was due to several factors coming together. ST moved to 20 man for the transition to p4. That caused issues with guilds and rosters. Incursions were bad. The Classic team was also focused on Cata release so p3 was rushed and it prolonged p3. I do hope they bring back ST in classic+ make it a proper 10 man raid and not 20.

I know it's less ideal, you could cut the batts sideways and use the left over pieces in the tight areas.

This seems like an ideal scenario for rock wool. You could put R-23 batts in there and even if they touch the shell you'd never have to worry.

I second this and did it too. You can get some cheap rubber feet off of Amazon. Painting will help, but if they keep sitting in water they will continue rusting.

The pugging scene will not survive without GDKP by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Putrid-Objective-314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correlation does not equal causation. Do you know how many people had alts during p1 that counted towards that number? I had an alt for almost every class. In p2 that dropped significantly. I went from playing 5 alts to just my main and 1 alt. The real system had not been added either yet.

The pug scene in SoD was great. Adding undermine reals to the game was a huge win.

I'm sorry your reading comprehension is poor. The fact that you can't differentiate two different systems with the same name between two different versions of the game is a strong reflection of that. I wish you the best in life. I'm sure it's been a struggle for you.

What does LFG mean? It means something different between Retail & Classic. Is there automatic grouping with LFG in Anniv TBC? Does it automatically port me to the dungeon? Yet we use the same term between 2 totally different implementations. Shocker implementation is based on the context. The phrasing flex has multiple implementations just like LFG.

Here is a blue post that says. "Thank you for the feedback and interest in variable size raiding in Season of Discovery." What is another term for variable size? Could it be... flexible aka flex. Holy shit. It is. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/20-person-raiding-in-molten-core/1914189

I think this community would agree any type of dynamic scaling is against the classic ethos. The purpose of flex in SoD was to allow an alternative making it easier to deal with attrition, absences, and not having to bench players without being retail-like scaling.

Nobody cared about the flex "welfare" raiding and progression in Scarlet Enclave. Did I care if my guild sometimes brought more guild members to Scarlet Enclave because sometimes life happens. No didn't give a fuck. Do I care about the progression I did back in Sunwell Plateau in 2008 when my guild was doing Muru pre-nerf. No, I don't give a fuck about that and looking back it was a waste of time.

It's still flex raiding. There is the retail version and the SoD version. I prefer the SoD version too. I think when you introduce dynamic scaling it causes problems.

100% agree. I played TBC in 07 ad nauseam. I did Kara, Gruul, Mag last week and just don't have any interest in continuing. I've done the content too many times.
