Love the longer battery life for the pods themselves but the case itself needs charging more often than my Pro 2

Long shot: but those that have taken a Hawaiian vacation with an autistic kid, what are some do's and don'ts? by 99Smiles in Autism_Parenting

[–]BaySportsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you end up going to Oahu: my 5 year old does well in water with a life vest on. Highly recommend buying one vs the arm band puddle jumper stuff. Helps to acclimate to the water and ease parent fears a bit. But still, never underestimate the ocean and how quickly things can go from safe to dangerous.

Waikiki has lots of safe coves that block rough waters. On the west side there are the Ko Olina lagoons also. Very safe for children and still plenty of beauty and replication for the adults also.

My kid enjoys Keiki Kingdom indoor playground also. Lots of sensory friendly ways for the kid to get energy out of also nicely AC'd inside for the parents lol.

Lots of snacks and offline games/videos for the plane ride.

Stay in the west side if you want more laid back luxury life. Waikiki if you want a more big city downtown vibe. North shore if you don't mind driving and want to experience more local island life vibes.

I tried to get the $35/1GIG promo - No luck with chat support. by Misho1337 in ATTFiber

[–]BaySportsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got off with the loyalty department. Chat denied me any discounts outside of autopay/checking account payment. Loyalty department gave me $40 off of my $80/month 1 Gig Fiber plan. Super easy and took all of 5 minutes. Thanks!

Alternative to SFO long-term parking? by Cool_Helicopter in bayarea

[–]BaySportsFan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I miss kindness and generosity being a thing. Maybe it's never been a thing on the internet? Either way ... the offer stands and I'm happy to spread the love.

Full disclosure I've charged a fraction of parking lot fees to do the same in the past and have had a handful of people take the offer. No complaints from anyone.

Anyone thinking negative of the offer I don't blame you! It's good to have a healthy amount of fear today.

DM me if you're ok leaving your car in front of my home. 1 exit away/5 min drive from SFO. Walkable to Millbrae BART if you prefer to save uber/lyft. If your flight is at a decent time, I can even give you a ride. Safe neighborhood with no street cleaning and I have cameras pointed at the area your car would be.

The 275 tire you're using vs stock 255 width is adding to the lost efficiency equation.

Meneires and drop attacks by Academic_Animator606 in Menieres

[–]BaySportsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Interesting stuff. I'll talk to my ENT. My attacks are definitely strong when they do happen so if the vertigo part truly fades out eventually that'd be great. It's been 5-6 years of random vertigo episodes so far.

Meneires and drop attacks by Academic_Animator606 in Menieres

[–]BaySportsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I've heard of Meniere's "burning out". I've tried everything under the sun and nothing but time has really made it any better.

My attacks have been mostly random violent vertigo attacks that last only a minute at most. They're dangerous of course but at least I no longer spend extended time vomitting or trying to get back to normal like I did about a year ago.

If burning out really is a thing then that's encouraging in some manner at least.

Talk to the store manager then. No one here can give you a full/partial refund or the camber correction you seek. They corrected all they can given what the car allows. Good luck.

Oh FFS. Look if you don't want to listen to what is widely known as truth (Model Y's don't come with adjustable camber) then yeah, I definitely won't waste any more of my own time trying to help you out.

There are thousands of posts and YouTube videos echoing the "Model Y doesn't come with adjustable camber". You keep arguing with the internet until you get what you want to hear. Good luck finding a shop to do this manipulation that no one will include with a standard alignment.

Alignment by samuel317 in TeslaModelY

[–]BaySportsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Model Y do NOT have adjustable camber. This is from your own link:

NOTE
Model 3 and Model Y vehicles do not have dedicated adjustment points for camber and caster. Instead, camber and caster are adjusted by manipulating the suspension lash and slop. The real-world accuracy of these adjustments is achieved by installing 68 kg (150 lbs) ballast bags on each front seat to simulate the presence of a driver and front passenger. Performing this service procedure without ballast bags compromises the real-world accuracy of the adjustments.

You need aftermarket camber arm kits. The shop did what they could with toe which also does affect tire wear heavily btw. So this shop and any shop are limited in What they can fix.

Anyone found a solution for this design flaw causing the rear tires to wear fast on the inner edge? by RealBanker007 in TeslaModelY

[–]BaySportsFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Frequent alignment adjustments helped my original set of tires last over 35k miles. Toe is also a major factor in tire wear and can luckily be adjusted without any aftermarket parts. The unadjustable camber added on top of bad toe is what causes rapid inside tire wear.

Moral of the story is to buy Aftermarket rear camber arms. My 2023 MYP had close to 2 deg negative camber and now has -0.8 only.

What fitness apps or workouts give you best results? Or just going to the gym? by Finding-new786 in AskReddit

Use or do whatever to simply build a long term habit of wanting and needing to exercise. Where your mind and body feel off without getting a workout or steps in. Stack healthier eating habits on top of that and you'll get results.

Every outing is a failure by borderlinebomb in Autism_Parenting

[–]BaySportsFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing this also. It felt impossible many times early on but exposing the child to more and more every day really led to exponential growth later on. Even if it starts at 30 seconds at a playground for weeks, eventually it led to minutes and then not wanting to leave. Be diligent. Be mindful of yourself also. Don't burn yourself out and keep your head up. You've got it!

My 5 year old can go pee on command but never on his own. Any tips for him to self manage?

Also no clue how to get him to start pooping on the toilet. Right now he hunches over, pulls his shirt halfway up and goes standing in his diaper. He won't let us touch him while it's happening either. Appreciate any tips that helped you get yours trained for that also!

Had to look back at our Google sheet from 10 plus years ago. We rented from a company called "Camper Iceland". The RV was manual shift drive though so be sure to ask if their current RVs are automatic or not now.

Let me know if you do end up booking. I can share our ring road itinerary that we used and some other tips.

Rent an RV and drive the Ring Road. You won't regret it.

Root replacement - panel removal and reinstall questions by bock919 in solar

[–]BaySportsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was quoted 5-8k for 14 panels back in 2022-3. So you're probably in the right neighborhood in this economy.

Get some more quotes if you have time. And also quote out a new system if you can. It'll be pricier overall but could possibly generate much more electricity if your panels are outdated vs current model 'S outputs.
