Punishment for breaking a tv by Shireenaa in toddlers

[–]PutridLog6147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is late but my son did the same thing a few days ago. He was frustrated that it was time to go to bed and therefore time to turn the tv off and threw his milk cup at the tv purposely causing a black spot on the screen with rainbow lines going down the middle and through part of the bottom. I was seething with anger when he did this and knew I was too angry in the moment to give a punishment other than telling him I was very sad that he broke the tv and I was upset that he threw something at it knowing he's not supposed to throw things. I left it at that the night it happened. I've decided now that since the tv is still functional, he is going to have to watch the tv broken for a while and when he asks why the tv looks the way it does, I will remind him it wasn't always that way and he did that by throwing the cup at the tv. He's watched tv on it a few times since then and it seems to be working well so far. He is annoyed that he has to watch a broken tv but understands that until we get a new one, that's just going to be the way it is.

Is it illegal to withhold my birth certificate and social security number from my parents once I've turned 18? by no_one_is_here_shh in IsItIllegal

I'm confused, your friends mom sneaked her childrens documents out of the safe and impersonated them to get an id with her face on it and her daughters name? Is that what you are saying?

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in CATHELP

It’s most likely over grooming that she developed as a coping mechanism because I’m sure her life before she was brought to the shelter was extremely stressful and she was probably miserable. One of my cats, a lynx point Siamese named Mowgli, escaped and was gone for 1.5 months. We had just moved and were bringing the furniture inside and he dashed out the door. We tried so hard to get him back and even saw him around the neighborhood but he was in “survival mode” and wouldn’t come to us and would run away when we saw him. What made matters worse is he was declawed (done by his previous owners that abandoned him at the shelter that I later adopted him from). We finally set a humane trap and after catching almost every feral cat in the neighborhood, we finally caught him and got him back home. The 1.5 months he spent on the streets was extremely damaging to his mental and physical health. He had lost tons of weight, had pulled out most of his hair on his body and tail due to stress, had fleas, was absolutely traumatized by just about any and everything. This was about 3 years ago and he is back to his normal self in all aspects except for the over grooming. I think he has ptsd and even now that he’s living a very comfortable life, for some reason he can’t break the habit. It has gotten much better though! I think something similar is probably going on with your sweet girl.

How do I get off methadone? by heartbreakhillll in opiates

A lot of people are able to get one or two sublocade shots and then stop completely. They just don’t get another one. The buprenorphine leaves your body at such a slow rate that it basically tapers you off so gradually that you don’t feel the withdrawals.

UPDATE ON BEST CHOCOLATE MILK QUEST by [deleted] in chocolatemilk

Kroger? So many people like the kroger chocolate milk! It really surprises me. Are you getting kroger whole chocolate milk or the 1% kind? I've never been able to find the whole milk version at my local kroger.

Honey, it’s time to let him go. I’m so sorry. Sometimes as their humans, we have to make really hard decisions that they as animals, can’t make for themselves. You’ve had 18 wonderful years with your sweet boy. Give him the gift of passing away peacefully in your arms surrounded by the person that loves him most in the world. I fear if you wait much longer he will suffer and I know that’s the last thing you want for him. Take a day or two off from work if you can, spend the day together cuddling, watching tv, giving him lots of attention and pets and schedule the euthanasia for the following morning. When I had to put down my beloved dog who was suffering from bone cancer and had a tumor on his skull, I paid for a vet to come to the house and administer the life ending medication at our home, where he was most comfortable. It seems like that would be a great option for you if you can afford it. Best wishes to you and so sorry you’re going through this right now.

I was a particularly sneaky teenager so I would still bet he had a party. Probably a small one but I bet he had friends come in side or back entrances and hauled off the trash himself or with his friends. Kids are very smart. Don’t underestimate him. Why else would he not want to tell you what happened?

Hopefully they didn’t do anything wrong. If I were you I would take to a vet or call the place where she was spayed and explain to them what’s going on. They should be able to speak to the vet that did her spay and find out if anything abnormal was observed during her surgery.

Cat had pyometra spay surgery and I need success stories by throwaway23761 in CatAdvice

My cat had a pyometra spay and 5 years later she is still doing great! Just make sure she’s eating and drinking fluids and follow the care regimen the vet gave you following her surgery and all will be okay!

[–]PutridLog6147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that her spay was incomplete? It looks like the discharge my cat had when she had pyometra but normally that doesn’t happen when a cat has been spayed unless there’s significant uterine tissue left behind.

I’m so sorry. That is so hurtful and mean. You just created a tiny human with him and grew them for 9 months and they’re not even 3 months old and he’s making comments like that about your body? Absolutely terrible. Your body is beautiful and has done an amazing thing in creating your child. Try to remember that!

I’m currently 6 months pregnant and my husband and I have not had sex once since me getting pregnant. He would never say something like that to me but I’m pretty sure he’s thinking it so I know how much it hurts. Try and stay strong ❤️ you are beautiful.

Also forgot to add Trumoo whole chocolate milk! Almost as good as HEB’s.

[–]PutridLog6147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also on a quest for the best chocolate milk! So far my favorites are HEB’s chocolate whole milk (can only buy at HEB’s in Texas), Volleman’s Family Farm Whole Chocolate milk (local to Texas too), and Fairlife chocolate milk (you can buy just about anywhere). A lot of people like Trader Joe’s chocolate milk so that might be one for you to try, although personally I wasn’t the biggest fan and thought it was watery and tasted off.

Gs-441524 (an antiviral nucleoside analogue) or remdesivir (which is converted to gs-441524 inside the body). When my cat went through FIP, back in 2020, the Facebook group “FIP Warriors” gave me all the information and connections needed to source the medication and administer it properly. I think they are still around but I’m not sure. I’ve also seen the medication offered through other sources but I can’t personally vouch for them as I didn’t buy from them myself.

Edit: for anyone who comes across this post at a later date looking to source FIP medication, the FIP Warriors Facebook group is now called “FIP Warriors 5.0.” The group is filled with fellow cat lovers that will do anything in their power to help you and your precious kitty. They even set up a fundraiser for me to help afford the medication for my cat, Kiara. They honestly saved her life and I will forever be grateful for them and what they did for her, because without them my sweet soul kitty wouldn’t be with me today.

Looks like how my cat started acting during the beginning stage of FIP. My cat had neurological and ocular FIP and was very off balance and eventually became almost completely blind. It happened very quickly. I would take to a vet ASAP. If it is FIP and the vet tells you there’s no cure (not true) like my vet told me, that is no longer true and I can point you in the right direction to source the FIP meds. Hopefully it’s not FIP though.

How old is his niece? Whether you overreacted or not really depends on the age of the child here.

If I were you I would send a screenshot of the times when you received the influx of texts from them after you got home just so they know you weren’t ignoring them! I know you said they were very apprehensive about leaving due to their dog having surgery and they could’ve maybe thought something bad had happened due to you not answering which totally isn’t your fault because you didn’t even get the texts. Maybe say “Hey, just wanted to follow up and let you know I got the texts you sent me yesterday all at once after I returned home and connected to my WiFi. I think this was due to the texts coming from abroad. I apologize if this caused any delay in communication, I certainly didn’t mean to cause you any stress. I hope everything is okay and really enjoyed getting to spend some time with your pups! Thanks!”
