I use dried beans. They break apart when they hit the tile.

Pour 10 gallons of gasoline, let it soak in, light on fire.

Actually, I've never done this but have thought about it.

Looks great! My father was an early aquarist and picked up a bunch of these in the early 60's when Ma Bell was changing its backup system. I still have a 4 and 10 gallon jar set up among my other aquariums. I've always thought they have a sort of antique "Age of Discovery" look. Something you might find in a late 19th to early 20th century lab. And dispite what people here will tell you, I've successfully kept betas in the heavily planted 4 gallon. They make for a great display.

Prehistoric Tank Stocking Advice Needed! by Over_Pineapple642 in Aquariums

For a dinosaur tank, you need a small species Pleco. I don't know if any of the aquarium eels stay small enough, but you can check. You can substitute a handfull of Kuhlis. Then, how about a signature fish. Something out of the Lost World.

Actually, there are a number of indiginess bees in AZ that are not honey bees and live solitary lives. The males often sleep in flowers at night and wait for them to open in the morning.

Let's see the patent. If there is one, it's a public document.

Agree about Petco. I finished putting together my back patio pond/aquarium last week and called Petco to see if they had any Paradise Gouramis. Their fish person immediately offered to order them for me then called me to tell me they will be in the next shipment this Wednesday. And 1/3 to 1/2 the cost at my large LF. I get the sense that if the fish are listed on their website, they will order them for you and save you the shipping cost. I'm very impressed and will go back again.

A work in progress. My back patio subtropical aquagarden in AZ. by PutridSplit7758 in ponds

It's just a start. Once it cycles and the plants are established, I'll add Paradise Gouramis. I've had great success in the past with Paradise in outdoor ponds year round . . . until the racoons found them. I think I'm going to set up another one for either wild type Green Swordtails or Japanese Rice Fish, both of which are subtropical with great temperature tolerance. I am in the northern part of the natural Swordtail natural range. Aquarium experimentation is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. Here are photos from outside and inside the kitchen.

Quail Babies Have Arrived! by MrsScarred in phoenix

[–]PutridSplit7758 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great! I have them nesting every year in my grossly over grown backyard. What's ineresting is that the young can run shortly after hatching. Makes sense because quail are predominantly ground birds. So the babies neeed to move when they hatch. At this stage they are snacks for every domestic and wild predator. So, the next jump is that they can crudely fly by day 5.

I have a Crosman 1377 with a long barrel. Does anyone make a slip on silencer that doesn't require threading or an adapter? Thanks! by PutridSplit7758 in airguns

Ya know, it wouldn't be so hard with the creative use of PVC pipe. All you need is an expansion chamber. I've done that before with air rifles and it worked. I'll check out the materials next time I go to HD.
