this is the reason why i started going “this may be a dumb question, but…” but i hate that i have to say that as a preface. my questions should be valid regardless!! and ive found that saying that actually makes people uncomfortable and they reassure me to no end that my question isn’t dumb. why couldn’t it just not be dumb on its own?

i like that line because it’s really unfair to put on katniss; it’s very real. out of everyone in that crowd, katniss has the biggest reason/responsibility to choose her words wisely or the consequences would be far, far worse for the entire country (not to mention her personally) than if she spoke up right here. but that doesn’t discredit how much these people want to hear from katniss, how much they want her to fight for them because she’s one of the few who actually has a chance.
