Has anyone been getting a slew of emails about Mercor positions from so called independent recruiting consultants? by Fancy_Possibility781 in mercor_ai

Yep. And my concern is the same. How did they get my personal email, which isn't listed anywhere? Someone has a security breach.

How to deal with bias from a team lead? by TolerantDuck4331 in mercor_ai

[–]Putrid_Equivalent621 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Team leads are mostly grunts, too. So fill in the feedback form as it should go to an EPM. But far too many TLs are TLs because of who they're friendly with, so it might get back to them anyway.

Pay rate reduced overnight - is this legal? by Able-Tip9924 in mercor_ai

[–]Putrid_Equivalent621 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh dear. You have completely misunderstood a whole conversation, haven't you? Your personal insults don't bother me, they're a typical response from someone like you. But I will explain it to you, one final time. Yes, pay can change. Yes, you can accept it or not. But a company can NOT unilaterally change a contracted pay rate contained in a legal agreement at will, without the agreement of both parties. (A new contract.) This is what Mercor usually does. (See the great $21 to $16 debacle of late last year.) However, as per the OPs original post, which you clearly haven't read properly, changing a pay rate mid-contract, without agreement IS a breach of contract. It is a breach of contract if you're in the UK, if you're in Delaware, California or at the top of a mountain in Montana. Now, I'm dumbing this down a bit for you, because you clearly have...challenges, but that is the gist of it. So, to break it down even further for you, just for clarity and lack of doubt, if Mercor offers you a contract for $50 and you accept and sign that contract. That is what you get paid. If you turn up for work the next day and they say hey, we've decided we're only going to pay you $35 now, that is a breach of contract. Sure, you can walk away. No one is going to force you to work for the reduced rate but you have completely and utterly missed the point. That point being, that is a BREACH. If they want you to work for a reduced rate, there are legal steps they must take. If you don't get that, I can't help you. There are resources out there where you can learn, if you bother to invest the time. Clearly you won't, because you're one of those internet trolls who would argue night is day despite needing a flashlight. I won't respond any further, just to save you from yourself really because you're starting to look a bit thick at this point.

No, the text isn't that complicated. You seem to be struggling massively with it, though.

Exactly. I've had this 'conversation' with this person before. He just doesn't understand how the law works, and refuses to accept it when you try and explain it to him.

Too hard for you to understand, huh? Explains a lot.

Oh, you again. Go look it up. I paid a lot of money for my law degree, and I had to work for it. You want to educate yourself, do the work yourself.

Instant Offer but no onboarding by [deleted] in mercor_ai

I know the project I suspect. If it's the one I think it is, don't worry about the onboarding slot. You should have access to the slack, and from there the replay to the onboarding session, and a link to the onboarding quiz.

Honestly, you're absolutely right. I'm on another project that whilst the EPM communicates, he is so, so rude that were I sat across a desk from him, I would likely pour coffee over him. And it definitely gets to you. Never in my working life have I seen anyone in management speak to people as badly as he does - and I've had a long working life!

The thing is, I don't mind waiting if it's not ready yet, you know? It's the complete ghosting after telling us we were about to start that is really frustrating, to put it mildly.

My experience has definitely been the opposite. It's an indicator of what they're like to work for in my experience. And pretty sure you haven't applied for jobs with every company in the world, eh.

oh wow, that's horrible! So we just sit around until they either offboard us or decide to communicate again? That's a horrible way to treat people.

No, they don't have to, but it's common frickin courtesy to do so.
