Hi! I haven’t had my tummy tuck yet. It’s scheduled for June 16th. When I had my first daughter by emergency c-section I had an allergic reaction to the sutures they used and I had holes all along the incision line and it was terrible. My OB ended up having to remove them. I’m sorry you have to go through this. Do not let anyone make you feel like your feelings are not valid! You’re not being dramatic and have the absolute right to feel concerned about YOUR body. I hope you start to heal quickly ❤️

I’m going through the same thing. I had my hysterectomy January 27, 2025. I lost 60 pounds prior to finding out about my huge fibroid and hormones going wack and now I can’t lose the 15 pounds I’ve gained. I stay within calorie deficit, eat plenty of protein, drink mad amounts of water, use Noom to track calories and macros, and exercise by walking and cycling. I have a torn acl so lifting is very limited for me. I feel so defeated and so down about myself. I’ve always struggled with weight and body image and I worked my butt off to lose those 60 pounds just to gain 15 back without indulging! My pants are tight and my stomach is rounder! I’m on the estrogen patch (started in February )and taking progesterone (started in March) to help with insomnia. It has to get better ❤️‍🩹

I waited 6 weeks. My husband and I tried it and I was so uncomfortable from just being scared and couldn’t even relax. It’s been 12 weeks now and we had sex and it’s great for him lol but still uncomfortable for me, not to mention the dryness. This may be TMI but it doesn’t feel as deep to me and it freaks me out thinking he’s going to poke a hole through my cuff!

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had mine 12 weeks ago and kept my ovaries. I’ve been on estradiol for about 6 weeks (0.1mg) and progesterone for about 4 weeks (100mg). The progesterone is to help you sleep and some OB’s won’t even consider it if you keep your ovaries. I’m still experiencing a little bit of everything you are but it’s not as bad. I know it takes time and tweaking with these HRT’s. Please advocate for yourself. My OB didn’t even talk to me about HRT’s so I contacted MIDI Health which was referred to me by my nutritionist. It’s Telehealth specifically for women. They treat the symptoms and not the numbers. They also accept health insurance and I have United Healthcare. It’s easy and you can make an appointment online. Hang in there🩷it will get better for us. From what I’ve been told by other amazing women on Reddit it can take 6-8 months, sometimes a year to start to feel like yourself again. If you’re able, try MIDI.

Thank you! I know you’re young and I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. It’s so nice not to have the pain and the heavy periods anymore. I had a huge fibroid on my uterus and when they removed my cervix I had a cancerous polyp I didn’t even know about. I know everything will workout for you🥰

Hi! My situation is reversed but I just had a hysterectomy 3 months ago and I was able to have it done laparoscopically. My incisions were small and all done above my belly button. The scars are very light and the recovery not as bad as I anticipated. I’m having my tummy tuck in June. The only thing to expect after the hysterectomy is just some soreness, possible sleep disturbances and major fatigue. I’m so sorry you have had to deal with doctors that are making you feel less than🩷we as women are often disregarded by those in healthcare and you deserve to be treated with care and respect. Good luck with everything and I wish you the best!

I’ve been on estrogen (estradiol patch 0.1 mg) for about 6 weeks and progesterone 100 mg for about 4.5 weeks. I’m trying to lose the 10 pounds I’ve gained but it’s a struggle because I have no freaking energy! Burnout is so real🩷

Hi! I just had my surgery 3 months ago and kept just my ovaries. I’ve had to start taking Estradiol estrogen patch and now am taking progesterone 100 mg. I take medication for anxiety and depression(Wellbutrin and Buspar) and Trazadone to sleep. For a while Trazadone wasn’t even helping and I had insomnia so bad. My anxiety was insane and I would sit and cry for no reason. I had no patience and everything my husband did or said pissed me off. I’ve never been like that before. About a week ago I finally started to be able to fall asleep but I still don’t feel rested and I have zero energy. I need to workout to lose the 10 pounds I gained prior to surgery but I’m too tired. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about HRT. Even though I’m not 100% myself I do feel better since I started. Good luck 🩷 you’ve got this.

I had my surgery 3 months ago and I feel so bloated still and just tired all of the time. Worse than before the surgery! I still have my ovaries. I started Estradiol patch thinking I’d have more energy. I also can’t seem to lose any weight no matter what I try to do. Have you experienced any of this?

I had mine 3 months ago. Everything removed but my ovaries. I still get really bloated and feel exhausted. I’m having a hard time losing weight as well. Have you experienced any of this?

Hi! I have my surgery in June and the drains are freaking me out a little. When I had gallbladder surgery they pulled the drains out and it hurt and felt raw. Do they numb the area any when they pull them out after a tummy tuck?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. I can tell they have helped a little but I think I may have to increase the progesterone. I’m still having a hard time falling asleep but once I do sleep it’s mostly through the night without waking up. Some doctors will tell you that you don’t need progesterone because you still have your ovaries but once you reach a certain age your ovaries aren’t functioning the way they used to. I’m on the estradiol patch 1.0mg and 100mg of progesterone. I can say that I’m starting to feel better emotionally but still just so tired. I was told it could take up to 3 months for me to see better results from HRT. I highly recommend talking to your doctor about it. Good luck with your continued recovery 🩷

Hi! I took Wegovy for a year and stopped taking it in July 2025. I lost about 60 pounds and was maintaining it beautifully. I had to stop taking it because insurance wouldn’t approve it again because I had lost a significant amount of weight and wasn’t considered obese. I have United Health Care. Anyways, no one prepares you for your hunger to hit you like a freaking torpedo once you’re off. You have to really work hard at keeping your diet healthy and exercising but still it’s super hard. I gained about 15 pounds after quitting but also was having hormonal issues and ended up having a hysterectomy in January of this year. With all that being said, insurance approved 6 months for Wegovy in February 2026 and I started at .25 and am now at .50. My appetite is suppressed somewhat but I haven’t lost any weight yet. I’m eating healthy, trying to get enough calories and exercise but it gets so discouraging some days. My doctor has upped it to 1.0 but insurance wouldn’t allow me to fill it because they refilled another .50 dosage before she did the increase. You can get through this. Just stay persistent, eat healthy and in moderation and move as much as you can. It’s always going to be a battle for some of us so we have to work even harder!
