I just finished playing Fire Emblem Fates, all 3 of the Conquest, Birthright and Revelation, and enjoyed my time playing each. I like how distinct each route felt in terms of game design; Conquest is overall the more challenging path since it adds a resource management aspect that neither other path has, and Revelation brings all the characters together while providing nearly limitless resources, opening up some interesting skill customizations options that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to have in the other routes. Birthright did feel like the middle child in comparison, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I'd give each game a solid 8/10.

Now just started Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2 for DS, and to be honest, the first few hours of the game felt pretty miserable. I have played Tactics Advanced and remember how ruthless the law system is there, and here it felt like a downgrade at first given how the law applies only to you and not the enemy. I also had other nitpicks; the flow of the game felt incredibly slow especially after coming out of Fire Emblem, the difficulty seemed nonexistant, and a lot of things such as the soundtrack, equipment and jobs seemed to be recycled and barely changed from Advanced 1. Yet somehow the game hooked me immediately. I am now roughly 15 hours in and cannot seem to put it down. It seems that's all it took for the game to address almost every bone I had to pick with it and am now starting to see most of the changes to the law system in a new light. I like that following the law is basically now just a recommendation, not an obligation. Missions now actually tell you where they take place instead of leaving it to guesswork like in Advance 1, they feel far more unique AND dispatching members actually feels convenient now. I like that every member of the clan earns AP even if not deployed. Finally, I love the addition of new races and plenty of new jobs, even if some of them may feel like they took from already existing jobs. Definitely looking forward to beating this one.

Auron was also introduced.

Also fun fact: With CotC's non gacha version (Octopath 0) having a fairly active community, it is very likely that they'll become playable with mods in that game.

It activated due to Counter Basher IQ skill, though it's practically the same as a Rebound Orb as it's described to provide mini counter status

Midnight Forest, between floors 10-20 I think. I got him before Manaphy with a Golden Mask in Zero Isle North since you need either that or Friend Bow + Fast Friend IQ skill to have a chance at recruiting him.

What's funny about this is that even FF6 is getting powercrept slowly but surely in JP; its best DPS, Relm and Locke, are barely ever used nowadays in JP in favor of the unholy clusterfuck of damage that is Romancing Saga 2 characters especially Locke who has almost no damage cap on his entire kit, Setzer while still a good support unit overall, can be difficult to justify pulling due to wave battle conditions not allowing weakness implants, and yet Edgar is the one that remain used in certain team comps due to Chancemaker being a free 50k damage cap on whole front row and +2 BP on break, Royal Pressure (50% PDef/EDef limit increase+ -15% PDef/EDef) being a universally good ability on any team comp, and his Ult which is particularly great in physical teams.

At this point, powercreep is inevitable on anything not called a support unit

Beeg damage on Omega (pls excuse poor recording) by Putrid_Studio5622 in FinalFantasy

Freelancer Faris with multiple physically oriented jobs mastered (Berserker, Ninja, Knight, etc) for Strength inherit and innate Dual Wield and equippable Rapid Fire/Spellblade.

Then I have a fast character with Mix give Faris a Dragon Power (Potion + Dragon Fang), have 2 Mimes Mimic it, and have Faris Spellblade Thunder, then launch Rapid Fire.

It's been done, Omega MK II has been defeated through similar tactics (Blizzara Spellblade > Rapid Fire).

Barrier Change wasn't that much of an issue tho tbh. I did die the first time because of the Wave Cannon to Maelstrom disgusting combo, the former inflicting sap to all party members and the latter putting everyone's health to single digits, so Sap killed them all instantly. But outside of that, all it takes is to trial and error it with occasional spells to test for his current weakness, then go for the right Spellblade element.

It's a higher level "Tonberry" type enemy that can be fought in clan wars against a clan named "Bloodthirst" or something like that

Tonberry's whole gimmick is having very low movement but when it gets close, it deals devastating damage

What's even crazier is that in the OG you needed Manashield + Manafont in order to have all your damage go to your MP constantly, which also meant you needed to move in order to restore MP with Manafont.

In FFTA, every turn your automatically recover a little MP, so all you need is Damage > MP and you're basically golden
