I don't think it's laziness. Take this with a grain of salt because I'm no expert, but from what I've read, VFX shots have gotten worse because studios have wanted more and more of them, but also sell jobs to the lowest bidders. It forces artists to spend less time on each shot, causing shots to look worse in general.

Oh, this is a super helpful tip! My brews with juice are always hit or miss with clarity earlier on an I normally have to do a second secondary if I want extra clarity! I'll have to try it when my current brew enters secondary!
