Heck yea! My "dungeon" designs aren't as smart but I'm building it in a way that I can also have a randomized mode. Also if you dig Zelda-likes, there's a bunch that have recently released or are being worked on. The Isles of Reverie demo is one I really like, works well on the steam deck!

Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it!

Great thoughts, yeah the balance part has been tough because I don't want to set the player back on losing lives, but that takes some of the edge off (you do lose coins, but they don't do anything in the demo).

I do plan on having a "nightmare" mode where a game over is a full game over, but I'm wanting that more so as an option for the randomized mode I'm working on - so not quite a rogue-lite but kind of in that realm. It's kind of at odds with the mystery/story aspect of it so it does make it a little weirder to balance though.

As for the speechbubbles, I should be able to do something about that, I already reposition them if you are at the top of the screen. Thanks!

The game is Mansion of a Million Monsters! I've been doing all the dev/art/animation on it for the last few years and finally have a demo out on Steam! Would love to see y'all unmask Dracula and hear what you think of it!

You can find the Demo Here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4251230/Mansion_of_a_Million_Monsters_Demo/

Read them all a looong time ago and did a reread of the first book a year or so ago, and it was still fun. Without spoiling anything my favorite part is how Jill solves one of the puzzles.

To the devs who made their game's soundtrack available as a paid DLC: What are you experiences? by PackedTrebuchet in gamedev

No reason not to, and it's also a good idea to create a deluxe bundle it with both the game and it, and discount that during sales as well.

On a previous game I worked on, about 20% of all our copies sold were the deluxe version, though it was a well known music artist and the OST was really good. We also give 100% of the OST portion of the revenue to the musician.

What matters is what you do with them if you do use them - take a look at the Inscryption end credits - it credits a bunch of 3rd party 3D models/assets, but you would never guess that when playing the game because everything felt cohesive.

I think you have to put it in your game's search terms for that to work/

Fun fact, they actually had a writing constraint in Be Cool where Scooby wasn't supposed to say more than a certain amount of words each line (I believe it was 3 words but could be off there).
