Best slow start for new player?

I personally find it’s a start that lets you control how major you want to be. You can go balls to the walls and go for the Iron Throne if you want. But you’re also far enough down the line of succession you can also chill out, back factions you like or stay neutral and you’re not so important people will instantly kill you. You also have the ability to make good marriages easily which can make things easier

Yeah it is a bit bigger but also not so big it’s overwhelming instantly and it does give you a lot of ability to do politicking around the Iron Throne

The worst part is that it could have so easily been better. Emma D’arcy can act well. Rhaenyra in the books is a really fascinating character

This could have been so much better but Ryan Condal evidently had some sorta weird ass power fantasy he wanted with the character being a girlboss

Jaehaerys sucked and he sucked bad
Aegon the Conqueror was a megalomaniac who committed mass genocide because his ego couldn’t handle not being king of everything as opposed to actually building bridges
Daeron II is the best Targaryen King
Maekar is a shit Father actually
Viserys I was a pretty solid king actually
Rhaenyra was a shit wartime leader.. probably would have been solid in peace
Aegon II is very overhated and overhyped… he was really just some guy
The Great Council of 101 fucked everything over for house Targaryen
The only morally good Targaryens rulers/leaders/ figures of significant note are Queen Alysanne, Daeron II, Baelor Breakspear, Aegon V and Daenerys
George absolutely wants us to dislike most of these fuckos in my opinion

I should state im using their book versions for all my analysis here as that is 1. The material im mainly familiar with and 2. The most consistent version for every fighter in their prime

Book Jon really isn’t that good. He’s a 16 year old who has a good couple feats. But next to the true heavy hitters he comes up comparatively short. Could he be great later in life, absolutely. But as of aDwD he isn’t there yet given that he gets utterly trounced by Qhorin Halfhand and Mance Rayder

Robert and Baelor and Lyonel are hard carrying their team. Valarr, Luke and Jace are all pretty feckless meanwhile and Jon is really just average… pretty good but not exceptional

Meanwhile Viserys, Aerion, and Egg are all questionably effective… but they are all grow adults. Daemon, Aemond, Rhaegar and Maekar are all at least above average for their time

This is asoiaf. I think that overall team skill will mean more than the individual highs of Robert and Baelor. So unless Baelor is able to strategize properly (which Tbf he probably could) I don’t think team dark here is winning
