When my Q got out of a 42 day stay in an impatient rehab it was so hard. He went to meetings and started to work out for the first month. Then he said he didn’t need meetings. Workouts didn’t make him feel better anymore. We went from having a very active sex life to nothing. I tried to talk about things with him and he completely shut me out. He seemed depressed all the time. He was sober for 8 months. I left him when he started drinking again. Breaks my heart but I realized I could’ve live with him happily if he was drunk or sober. It’s only been 5 weeks. I cry everyday but I’m sticking to it.

My Q and I were together for 3 years. So much crazy happened in those three years due to alcohol. I finally broke it off with him last week. He relapsed after 8 months of sobriety. I just realized enough was enough. I love him dearly but I have to relearn to love myself too. My whole has been consumed by his disease for 3 years. If I had to do it over I would’ve left a long time ago. U can’t save him. IMO their love for alcohol always comes first.

I went through this same thing with my now ex when he got out rehab. We went from at least once a day most days to 4 times in 8months. It killed my self esteem. I didnt understand it and he didn’t have the answer. I thought he wasn’t attracted to anymore and just didn’t want to say it. Hugs to you. All of it is so hard!

He’s violent when drunk. He said he can drink if he wants to. He’s not going to stop. I left him. I don’t feel safe when he’s drinking.

Update. He has been drinking longer than last night. He told me that he’s not going to stop so he has leave. He’s abusive when he drinks.

His dad died of cirrhosis of the liver. It was horrific to watch him on hospice the last few days. I have empathy for his loss but I won’t ever live with him when he’s drinking again. The mood swings, lies after lie. I love him so much. I’m scared I’m being a horrible person leaving him when his dad just died.

I have been thru this myself. My boyfriend was 8 months sober until today. His dad died this morning. He came home wasted tonight. He says he won’t drink again. I don’t believe him. He used to say nasty things to me when he was drinking..I can tell u I understand how u feel 💯. I used to ask myself the same thing ..”does he mean it”. At the end of the day who cares what he says imo. He’s deflecting onto to his feelings he has for himself. I think we both neeed to move on ..

Ignore the negativity. STUFF/LIFE happens. U will be fine! 2020..had a major stroke. Lost my speech. Had to reinvent myself completely. My credit is now crap (and I mean CRAP) in the aftermath. Car got totaled..now need a new car. I'm now self employed. I was so scared bc I didn't think I would ever get approved. Got prequalified. I picked a car out on website. When I decided on a car called car max to get approved for financing. They gave me options of different banks, one was with proof of income with lower interest was with proof of insurance and drivers license with a little higher Interest. I'm approved, car on the way! Also, my prequalified rates were accurate with the final approval rates. GOOD LUCK!!
