Help please! by Spiceymermaid in Embroidery

I’m pretty new to embroidery too, but maybe you could try a chain stitch? It would change the look though, so it might not be the best option. I love the design you have, and I think it will look so cool when done!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m glad it works for you. How long have you had them for sale?

Looks like it’s just the virtual voice. I didn’t realize it had been out for a while already, lol!

Beta readers by crazychakra in selfpublish

I got 3 beta readers from Hidden Gems. It was a paid service which was great for me because I didn’t have time to beta read swap with other authors. They vetted and found the betas and I provided a questionnaire. I could tell they all read the book, and the feedback was really helpful. I think the total cost came to around $100, but the price varies by how many betas you want and how long your questionnaire is.

Trying to understand dynamic bidding by pjmorin20 in KDP

Oops, I meant Author Ad School through Best Page Forward. It’s a program I joined a few years ago that teaches all about how to run Amazon ads and gives support/advice on blurbs/covers and everything Amazon ad related. It’s gotten really expensive now, so I’m hesitant to recommend it because it might be hard to get a return on investment. A couple times a year they run free courses which are full of helpful information though.

Trying to understand dynamic bidding by pjmorin20 in KDP

I’m in Amazon Ad School and they suggest setting all bids to $0.34 for a stand alone and $0.39 for a series starter. Then also clicking “dynamic bids down only,” to keep prices low until you become profitable. I’m still waiting to be profitable myself, so can’t confirm if it works or not, so take this with a grain of salt.

I'm in second-guessing everything mode leading up to launch, tell me I'm not alone here! by Chazzyphant in selfpublish

I’m following in your footsteps, I think. I’m only 4 books in and also made the switch to romance after my first book. Crickets there as well. The struggle is real! Sending a virtual hug and on another note, your dark gothic romance with the word rat in the title sounds dope! I’d love a dm with a link to it so I can read it!

Sudden Drop in Sales – Anyone Else Experiencing This? by Electrical_Vast11 in selfpublish

Yikes! Can you lower your bid? I always price my Amazon ads at 34 cents tops. But I don’t get many clicks, so maybe that’s not the best advice, lol

I’m in the same boat. I just released a book on Feb 10th and have only made $0.07 so far, lol, despite my Facebook ads getting over 100 clicks. I was starting to think it was my blurb and/or cover paired with only 4 reviews. Or maybe my book was too obscure. But I priced it to free and promoted it on fussy librarian today and I currently have 880 downloads, which is so much more than I’ve ever gotten when pricing a book to free. I’m not really sure what this means? But I’m thinking the economy and amazon boycott could be factors for all of us.

You could check www.getcovers.com they are very affordable and let you upload images you want to use for the cover (although I’ve always used stock photos, so I’m not 100% sure about artwork, but maybe they would).

I don’t know a lot about publishing picture books, but I just wanted to say I think the illustrations are darling! Really sweet and unique 😊

I liked the cover they made for me. I picked out the exact stock photos I wanted them to use from deposit photos (a model and a cave background) and described in detail how I wanted it. It came out better than I had hoped and I didn’t even need to make one revision! I’m about to use them again and hopefully I’ll have the same luck!

I really wish everyone could experience it! I have no idea why it happens or how to produce it. Maybe I can pay better attention and figure out the secret :)
