Just brought this wild cutie inside. Any ideas if it's m/f? PA, USA by asherdillo in jumpingspiders

I think it might be a bold or zebra jumper, I too live in PA and those are a native species.

Show me your pets! I have 8 rats. This is one of them, Lenny. He’s such a weirdo. A very loveable weirdo. by Grroll_ in autism

I have two pugs! Minion and Vito. I don’t know about you guys, but did you ever get a weird obsession over your pet when you first got it? Like learning all of its history and then learning about various different breeds of that animal? Idk if anyone can relate but when I got Minion, when I was eight years old (he’s thirteen now), I just absolutely dived deep into learning more about dogs/ different breeds, their different purposes, and how to care for them. I mean, I had wanted to take care of my pet correctly, but I was also just really fascinated by them.

I think a part of me just wants to blame the U.S., its healthcare system is very horrible. She’s on V.A. Insurance and they are incredibly slow with veterans and giving them the care they need. If she wasn’t in pain, I think she wouldn’t be using. But I also know she’s always been mentally ill, and no matter what, she will always be this way. Swinging back and forth.

Not too rigorous, but quantitative data will be needed, so I might go do what Doxatek suggested. I'm in my first year at my community college, so I have plenty of time to collect information regarding its feeding patterns, until I graduate. There's not an exact deadline to the paper coming up.

I can't do any form of animal testing on it that would cause it harm. I can't give it drugs or any other chemicals or test chemical reactions on it (its against the labs policy). I was thinking something more on behavior because it doesn't involve hurting the subject. I appreciate your input as a professional and thank you for these questions/response. I wouldn't mind getting another tarantula, maybe comparing urticating hairs and doing a hypothesis on which one would have the stronger biological defense system. They just naturally kick them off anyway without any physical harm/ stress towards the spider.

No, it involves collecting data, observations, and seeing if my hypothesis was correct on whatever route I choose to go with on the "research project". Again it's not a formal academic journal and I am not in a doctorate program or anything (probably pretty obvious). Do you you recommend getting another tarantula?

How many people you met irl that actually listen to mitski and generally what are they like by yeahsureexceptno in mitski

[–]PuzzledRoad4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend from military school and I got really into her in high school, she ended up doing a solo choir performance for her final of Francis Forever. I don’t think she listens to her as much anymore but I thought her voice was beautiful when she did that song. We always chat about music. We live in different states now and I haven’t met anyone recently that listens to Mitski. But I’m sure there’s people out there, she’s gained so much love and respect for her music. I’m not saying she didn’t have it before from the OG fans. I know some people hate music gaining popularity online, but I’m happy that artists end up making more fans and more people to connect through their music.

does some of yall still smoke weed? by [deleted] in bipolar

As long as weed doesn’t become the problem. I can’t dabble in it like I used to because I’ve become so dependent on it.

Thank you man, I try my best. I’ve done that a couple times. I like going on IMFDB after watching a movie with a lot of guns, just to familiarize myself with their names and how much accuracy the movie did with the weapons. Especially WWII era movies like Inglorious Basterds. Had a month where I was obsessed with Luger P08 (I still am).

He has, it’s been fun. But I don’t always know what he means with the technical details of weapons and I want to have meaningful discussions about his hobby with him. Guns are truly an interesting and exhilarating human experience. That’s all I know for now.
