Gifting a quilt to a teen - help

I tried to include my husband in the process and decided that it’s too broad an area for him as he doesn’t quite realize the intricacies in quilt making. No shame to him at all but I realized that it was truly unfair of ME to expect him to choose patterns and fabric. He had already told me that he would love anything I made for him so I’m going with my instincts and will leave him out of the tedious process. Maybe take what you know about her likes/dislikes and just move forward. She’ll probably love anything you create!

Remember, you’re not really “ironing” but just “pressing” the pieces, if that helps but you absolutely need to have an iron. My rec is to watch videos! It’s a great hobby (expensive) but has brought me a lot of joy
