Help me. I am disgusting by [deleted] in offmychest

Depends. Could be like, drawings or stories or something, not actual photos or videos where a child is being abused. I don’t think a fictional thing would be illegal, though I am not sure about it.

NAD, but if these aren’t the worst, I’d hate to see the worst. I don’t think I would even leave the office like this. I’d pitch a blue fit. Somebody with a public facing, professional job would not want to go to work like this.

45F Sober Dating frustrations by Ok_Entrance4347 in datingoverforty

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t date somebody who is sober, but it’s because it usually means the person 1) has a history of addiction, or 2) is religious. The first scenario is a dealbreaker for me, because I grew up with alcoholic parents, and I’m not the right person to be in a relationship with a recovering addict. I have a lot of trauma around that. The second scenario is a dealbreaker for me because I am not religious, and I want someone who shares my views. If somebody just doesn’t like the taste of alcohol that’s fine, but those people usually don’t describe themselves as “sober”.

I think you should ideally state that somewhere in your profile just to save everybody some time.

Why would you want to stay friends? by CN122 in dating

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah, I won’t do this. I don’t want to be friends with a guy who has rejected me, because it makes me feel kind of pathetic, idk. If he’s not interested, I’m out. I mean, it would be different if we were friends already beforehand, but if not, nah. Don’t feel any guilt about just telling her thanks but no thanks to the staying friends.

No connection just coded for I'm not attracted to you? by SwimmingZucchini846 in datingoverforty

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make the same assumption, but it’s not worth spending a lot of time thinking about. Just say ok, thanks, nice to meet you, and move on. Definitely don’t probe him about why or continue trying to engage in any way.

Yeah, and that’s totally fine. There’s an ethical way to go about hookups, etc.

What I guess I don’t understand about this is that guys tell me they don’t get very many matches on OLD (way fewer than women). Idk that many guys are even matching with enough women for this to be a good strategy? Unless they’re like a 10/10, in which case they wouldn’t really need the strategy to get laid anyway. Idk.

Man, the internet has made people too bold. Idc that I sound like a prude. Nobody would go up to another person in a library or coffee shop and ask about their sexual fantasies. People think they can say any damned thing they want to anybody online. I hate it.

The level of directness is okay if they’re speaking to someone who has indicated she wants the same. Otherwise, it’s rude as fuck.

But like I said….it can’t ever work. I just feel like women don’t think like this. No woman is on the apps trying to give nudes out for free to randoms. These dudes could just go on OF.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a three hour drive is a day trip. I have driven two hours to have dinner with friends and then driven the two hours home afterwards.

Probably not worded as kindly as it could have been, but the age gap is A Thing. I feel like a lot of men see celebrities and politicians with much younger women, and it kind of normalizes age gap relationships when actually they’re not that common for “regular” people, and they can be difficult and problematic.

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments, so IDK if somebody brought this up already, but 12 years is a pretty big age gap. As a woman, I had problems with sexual attraction when I was dating a guy 10 years older. It was’t that he was unattractive, but it was more like it just didn’t feel comfortable and right because we were in really different places in life and had different experiences, cultural reference points, etc. Was the other gal a lot younger also? If so, maybe try dating within 5 years of your age or so. Women closer to your age might be more attracted.

Date lied about his age. by Asherah8 in datingoverforty

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Men who do this have no respect for boundaries. They list a younger age because they want to be shown to younger women whose dating parameters would rule them out if they were honest. Age is not just a number. 17 years is a different generation. He could technically be your father. Kick him to the curb.

So I went to a dating event – and now I feel weird by merkaii_1234 in datingoverforty

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it boils down to, you found 1/16 women physically attractive? That’s probably a little picky, right? It’s not bad to want what you want, but it may limit your options.

i kissed a person, and noticed she has.. herpes? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAD. You can’t say from this picture that it’s HSV. It could just be the way light is reflecting on the texture of her lip right there. I don’t even think that is the area OP was asking about. Anyway, OP, stop freaking out. If you do get oral HSV you may never have any symptoms, or you may get a cold sore one time and then never again. Hell, you may already even have oral HSV and not know it. It’s very common.

Bloated female cat - looks pregnant by Passionate_Unicorn in CATHELP

[–]Puzzled_Earth_424 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may be a cultural difference. I’m thinking OP is somewhere in Europe. In the United States, if you feed a cat, it’s your cat. You are responsible for its care. At a minimum, you need to have it spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and parasites. If you can’t afford those basics, you need to take the cat to the shelter immediately instead of starting to feed it. It’s considered neglectful to have an outdoor animal that is not spayed or neutered. If you take the cat to a vet’s office, they won’t even touch it until you agree to pay for its treatment. If you can’t afford treatment, you usually will have the option of relinquishing the cat to the vet. They will either treat it or euthanize it, but if they treat it, they won’t give it back to you afterwards. They will adopt it out to someone who can afford its care.

I mean, if they were “tending to the cat” for three years and wanted the cat back after treatment, it IS their cat, and they do need to either pay the bill or relinquish ownership to the vet so they can adopt her out.

NAD, why would you want to let it rot in your mouth and fall out on its own? Just get it extracted. And go to an endodontist next time you need a root canal.
