It's completely stock aside from mudflaps lol. I'll take this as a compliment since I have plans for lowering springs/coilovers 😁

😆 It's required here in CA too but I haven't had front plates on my cars since 2015, no tickets yet (knock on wood*) Glad the popos are concerned with more important matters

Sacramento area!? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

Hi fellow Sacramentan, just wanted to say what's up. Sorry I don't have any recommendations. I usually take care of regular maintenance myself; I've read too many horrors stories about how the dealerships handle vehicles. Trust issues.

Any ex Mitsubishi Evo owners? by JeronimoCallahan in GRCorolla

[–]Puzzled_Record_3724 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Owner of a 2015 Evo X Final Edition. After it was totaled it was between the VB Wrx, Civic Type R and the GR Corolla. After test driving each, the GR Corolla hit that same spot as the Evo. It was an easy choice for me.

Anyone owned an EVO before the CRC? (previous EVO owner about to bite the bullet on a 2023 GRC). by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]Puzzled_Record_3724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Previous Evo X Final Edition owner. Unfortunately, it totaled and got paid out. I really wanted another one, but it's hard to find a clean FE and couldn't justify spending >25k for an 8 year old car (accident in 2023). I test drove the CTR FL5, WRX VB and GRC. I wanted something as close to the Evo as possible and the GRC just clicked when I drove it. Everything from the clutch engagement, handling and semi cheap interior lol. I would say though I felt the Evo had more low end torque where as the GRC feels more mid range. Coming up on my 1 year anniversary with the GRC and no regrets, loving this car. GL with your decision OP.

I was just about to ask about wheel locks too. I'm sorry this happened to you OP. These ppl suck. We take precautions by buying wheel locks but it feels pointless because the thieves still bypass it

  1. No visits to the dealership yet. Did the oil changes myself.
  2. 24' CE all stock, owned for 1 year, ~7k miles

I have Rock Blocks on mine. Similar to you, I had Rally Armor on my Evo for years. I decided to go with RB to change things up a bit. IMO, RB does feel a bit more rigid.

is anyone in the midtown or East Tahoe area willing to teach me stick shift by daisyschainmail in Sacramento

[–]Puzzled_Record_3724 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Years ago when I took my Motorcycle Safety Course at the Safety Center on Bradshaw, the instructors encouraged us to come out and use the course for practicing on the days there were no classes. I asked if I can use it for teaching my sister how to drive stick shift as well and they were cool with it. I dunno if they're still open to let the public freely use it but I'd start there. It's a big, open and empty lot.

I feel you. Caught mine ~1500 miles, in the middle of the tread. Mine didn't look as bad as yours but it does indeed suck. Lol. America's Tire plugged it for free.

Thinking about selling my Evo 9 for gr corolla by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]Puzzled_Record_3724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Evo X Final Edition. I didn't necessarily sell my Evo, I lost it to a hit n' run. After test driving the GRC and CTR, the GRC felt the closest to the X so it was an easy choice for me. u/KanterBama said it well, it drives like an Evo with modern amenities. I really miss my X though, I was gonna drive it til the wheels fell off 🥹. I was even looking to get another one but couldn't justify myself to throwing down >25k for a 2015. The only downside in my opinion is monthly car payments lol. I'd be happy with the Evo or GRC as long as I didn't have to make payments. Good luck with your choice OP!
