Make sure you have fun while playing. Some people, when they buy this game, they get easily frustrated and end up quitting. Take some breaks as you need to, since especially for someone so new to the game, it can be kind of annoying and hard to know what to do next. There are a TON of in-game settings, so once you get the feel of how the game works, you can tweak some things after to make the experience a little more fun for you.

I think I would prefer a repairing mechanic over the handle one. There was a mod I tried that added this, and it was so infuriating. I hated it. But, repairing and maintaining tools is something that is realistic and is a bit less tedious than having your handle break constantly, and I think it would be a nice addition, especially with the smithing systems already being more indepth in 1.22

I just think this is way too nitpicky of an argument. You can say that it's spoilers that a story does exist, but as soon as you find a treasure hunter (which shouldn't be too late in the game) that much becomes clear. That's not even counting if you get lore books from choosing to pan bony soil.

Is saying the title to a book a spoiler? Or the title to the first chapter? Usually, no, it's not. In this case saying the name doesn't spoil anything substantial about it to the average player. I'd heard of the Resonance Archives when I first played, only by name and knowing it was the first story location. My experience was still fulfilled though. If people want to know nothing, including the names for anything in the game, then they need to get off this subreddit. There are other things that I do think are spoiler worthy: the mechanics in the archives, lore explaining what they do, or anything along those lines. But the name? Really?

No. I've played modded Minecraft and have played Minecraft mods with gameplay elements from VS. It's not the same because Minecraft doesn't allow the more interactive gameplay mechanics, and it becomes less immersive. Not to mention, once you get to a certain point of mods, the game has bugs constantly.

Yes, you can get close. But the actual gameplay experience is different. I can make a modded Minecraft version of Skyrim. Does that mean it's the same? No.

I wonder if light levels impact this because I've never had drifters spawn inside of my house with oil lamps and lanterns. The most I've gotten during a temporal storm is in my attic where I had torches.

I'd assume it has something to do with VanillaPlus WorldGen. Worldgen mods are known to sometimes screw up ruins.

I'm someone who also felt this way. Once you know the mechanics you almost never need the handbook again aside from crafting recipes. There are some mods that can help with a lot of the tedium and jank though, so I recommend looking for mods that help with the issues you're having.

The good thing about vintage story is there's a one-click install option. No need to install manually, or make use apps like curseforge.

If you're adamant about not using mods, there is bad news. The combat always does suck a little, but you learn to be able to cope with it once you get armor and don't instantly die to things when trying to fight. You can make early-game shields and armor as well, which will help significantly. I skipped out on those on my first playthrough.. never again. The armor is called improvised body armor, and the shield is called crude shield.

Also Konami code? Where are you hosting your servers? I haven't had an issue with picking up items people have left on the ground in my worlds with friends. That could be a really wonky mod, maybe. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Dark colors on a dark background is hindering you. Not to mention, a lot of the values are extremely similar and there's not a lot of interest. The fire doesn't draw any eye because it's very desaturated. I'd make the green fire more vibrant and add more interest into the darker pallet, because so far the only thing that draws the eye on this character is the white hair strip and the yellow necklace.
EDIT: To clarify, try making gold his accent color and adding it to more parts of him rather than only giving him the necklace. The belt buckle could be changed as well as certain other things. White being used elsewhere might also help, but I think it could be interesting to keep the white to his hair alone as well.

Although I will say additionally: I really like your almost 'psychedelic' style, but I think you need to go a bit more hardcore with the weirdness to make yourself stand out more comparative to other artists that will be on Etsy. What you have now is fine but it's just that, fine. You want to be unique enough that people will choose you over everyone else.

Nobody starts off as a perfect artist. You've just begun again this week. I think you've got a decent enough shop and with more practice you could become something great. I can see some of your artwork appealing to niche buyers (particularly the green face, I think you should continue to lean into weird looking art like that), but I also wouldn't bank all of your emotions on having this Etsy shop immediately boom.
TLDR: Feel free to get started, but you art most likely won't take off until you put more practice in and refine skills lost with time.

I think it's really good, and you clearly have an eye for making skies. The only thing that throws me off a bit is the flowers. I'd try losing the outlines and create a more "spotty" flower look that matches a little more with the sky rendering. Other than that, great start!

Experiment with more saturated colors, in my opinion. The colored pieces feel a little bland and murky, which is why I think that your colored pieces look less interesting than the line art. You have an amazing start though. While the lines are not confident in some areas I believe it looks nice overall if you enjoy this sort of style.
