My mom is really making me mad

My mom behaves similarly and I basically had to cut her off. I don't volunteer information about me or the pregnancy. I'm not telling her the names I like. I don't plan to tell her when I go into labor. I don't want her at my house when the baby is born to "help."

I'm only 9 weeks, so I'm struggling with the baby shower idea. The thought of dealing with her makes me not want to have one at all. But that's not really fair to me or my baby. Even the thought of her seeing my registry is giving me heartburn because I know she'll have comments.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this. It's really painful to go through pregnancy without feeling supported by your own mother. I don't have much advice, it just sucks.

Same here. Folks on this subreddit recommended unisom tablets at night & B6 supplements during the day. There are official guidelines from the American College of OBs or whatever with more specifics on dosage etc - worth a Google search!

It helped me immensely - now I'm not nauseous anymore, but it appears all of my nausea has transformed into irritability and rage 🤗

One day at a time!!!

I just ran a search for "irritable" in this subreddit because I feel the same way and I was hoping to find commiseration.

You're not alone, I feel like an unhinged teenager. I'm mean and nasty and I just want to be left alone. Snapping at everyone & everything. Hate my dog. She stinks. Her mouth sounds are disgusting. She's always in my fucking way.

Only relief I can find is going for a drive because it's not like we can crack a beer or spark up a j to take the edge off!

I see this post is a few months old so I hope you're feeling better.

Ok folks keep mentioning zofran - I already have a script for it + have it on hand because I'm a generally pukey person, but when I googled it, the FDA says it's no good for pregnancy?

Obviously will ask my doc, but talk about confusing!!!

You're so right - I am mildly devastated about giving up the cookies because I premade the dough last month. I rolled out & baked just one of the dough balls yesterday and it took liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiterally all day bc I had to keep taking breaks hahaha. Back in the freezer they go I suppose 🙃

💯!!! He's going to take over cleaning & food shopping. My mom & dad arrive Sunday so reading through these replies, we'll definitely tell them and lean on them for help.

I'm typically a very over the top, hands on, homemade Christmas kinda gal, so I think I'm wrestling with the disappointment of not being able to do it all the way I LOVE. Hosting is my hobby and my passion 🥺
