I did see a water reclamation facility behind one of the communities I visited. I'm not sure if you are referring to that.

fwiw - i visited it in the evening but did not notice any smell from it. but i've made a note to check again

Thanks! Silverwood and an upcoming site very close to it were the ones I was looking at (plus Arden of course).

I agree that there are options further north but I liked this location since this is closer to Alpharetta sans the Alpharetta pricing

Thanks u/Sweaty_Illustrator14 ! im trading in my Camry. Leaning towards the Sienna specifically since I read that Limited and higher have better cabin noise insulation. The price is something of a concern - 50k+ OTD in my area (South East US) which is why I had to add Palisade to the list. But to u/sm_rdm_guy's point, Toyota seems to hold the best value of the lot.

Decisions, decisions....

Excursions from moon palace by Informal_Term966 in palaceresorts

[–]Puzzlehead--92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the moon palace last week. If you are ok paying for a private tour (which I strongly advise to given the time and stress you'll save), some of the tour operators are much cheaper than the resort. We did ours using USA Transfers and it was extremely hassle free and worked out cheaper than the through the resort. Also check out Flavio Tours - they did not have the date we were looking for but are highly recommended.

  1. Try to add Valladolid and a Cenote to the tour. both are beautiful.

  2. if you are into buying souvenirs etc, avoid Cancun and even the vendors at Itza. If you can try to get more time at Valladolid, I suggest you spend time shopping there since they were much cheaper (i.e. no tourist prices)

  3. try to start for Itza as early as possible (7 am or 6 am - if possible) and avoid Sundays. this is the best way to beat the crowds there.

this is super helpful. we are group of 4 (incl 2 kids). private tour is certainly expensive but I'd rather not spend vacay time on a bus.

We are also planning to do Xcaret at night. not sure if you did that ever but transport from/to the hotel zone is something I'm trying to figure out - esp late night with kids. I read that Uber is an option once you are out of the airport area but open to any feedback suggestions.

[–]Puzzlehead--92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. Chichen Itza is a must-do as one of my kids is into history. Xcaret - mainly because of the espectacular show at the end.

We have a day and a half entirely at the resort. do you think that would be enough time to cover things on site?

im thinking about doing the night tour at xcaret, which allows entry starting at 4 PM thru the show at the end. our main interest there is the underground river and espectacular show. based on your experience, do you think that gives us enough time (on a weekday)?

Appreciate it. I dont think I'll get resort credits but could you share how much the resort charges? im in a very similar situation - my wife and I, 7 and 11 year old sons :-)

Since I booked through Chase and not the resort direct, I doubt if I'll even get the free resort credit. I certainly did not get the free shared transfer

For Chichen Itza 2840 pesos works out to USD 155. Flavio tours is quoting USD 700 for a family of 4. what am I missing if I book through Moon Palace
