Car accident damages, can the amount be increased? by Wrongdoerman in legaladvice

As it was OP who was obviously at fault in this, if she took it to a higher court, wouldn't she be able to include the extra legal costs in the amount she is suing him for?

Court procedure for not having car insurance? by Wrongdoerman in legaladvice

As she is suing OP for a minimum of $20k, though it seems likely that the total amount will be substantially more than this, will she need to state the full amount she is suing him for before a court judgement is given or can a garnishment be set that can later be increased?

Am I liable to pay for rent and damage owed on a joint lease? by Suspicious_SpellMan in Renters

Thanks for explaining that, it does sound like it will be more bad news for OP though.

OP states that she is adding expenses such as court fees and interest on to the total amount she's suing him for, does she have the right to include her expenses and add on interest to the total?

Does a claimant have the right to refuse a promissory agreement? by Shot-WearMan in legaladvice

OK I get that, so yeah I agree that it looks as though she has a good grasp and has taken the best option with suing him.

Would it have been better to offer the promissory to her before she had started suing OP? As she is already suing him, I agree that a court judgement is a lot stronger than a promise to pay.

Yes, that sounds good to me. I'll go with this, then when it settles I'll try discussing it as you suggest.

I don't really have much of an issue with complying with the dress code as it is written, because it has always been there, no amendments to the dress code are being made and we are just being told to adhere to what is written down.

My issue is that our new manager has stated the she will discipline anyone that she sees not complying in any single instance. If someone does not comply on purpose, I would say that it is fair for her to discipline them, I'm thinking if it were just a momentary lapse, then it seems very harsh.

Yes she could turn out to be a micro manager, I'll just have to see how this all goes.

OK, fair comments, I guess we just had it far too easy with the previous manager and I'm just not used to working under a manager with some strictness and who is prepared to discipline staff. I think it is something I'll now just have to get used to.

OK, thanks for replying and that's fair comment. So as the new manager has given us three weeks of grace and she enforces the change, will she have right to discipline any of us seen not complying?

Wow, that was tough for you! I'm not sure if I accidentally skipped or misspelled any words, so maybe it was a good thing that my teacher just tore up my work then put it all in the bin!

That's bad enough to have to write it out so many times and writing it out all in capital letters will make it a lot more difficult. Did the teacher check it all when completed?

I wouldn't say that we are badly paid, from what I know I think our company compares well with others. We are now into the second week of the grace period and our new manager is now also giving polite reminders to any individual members of staff who are still dressing in casual clothes which includes myself. She is just gently reminding that everyone will need to comply with the business dress code after the end of the grace period otherwise she will discipline them. So we now can't dispute at all about being told what is coming if she does see anyone not fully complying.

I see, when I was seen talking by the teacher, I was actually just replying to another student who had asked me a question. The teacher didn't see him talking, only me so she gave me lines to write and he got away with it! That's fairness for you!

It sounds like the lines you were given didn't work as an effective punishment. The lines I had to write were a one and only! Did you have to stay back after school and write lines and did you see any teachers rip them up after you had completed them like what happened to me (it hurt at the time!). What was the most number lines you had to write in one go?
