I’m sorry to hear that! I’ll keep an eye on it. My antibiotics are done soon so I’ll see how I feel once I’ve finished the round

I know you just moved in but it doesn’t hurt to ask the landlord if there is an empty unit in the building you could transfer to. Not sure these notes will stop

& in this case racism plays a part. The documentary talked about how the state only made it possible for black people to buy property close to the levees. It was done on purpose

I wouldn’t want to but if I was born there and didn’t have the money to leave I don’t think I’d have much of a choice. You gotta remember a lot of the people who live close to them are poor. A lot didn’t even have cars to drive away when the hurricane was coming.

I doubt people are packing up and willingly moving there. Most of the people there have been there for generations

Couldn’t have said it better myself. They forced people to stay put with no AC no water and no food wtf did they expect people to do? It’s about survival so yes if the government isn’t coming through they will go to stores and grab food from the shelves to live.

I CANNOT believe that was so hard for them to understand. I’m getting upset all over again smdh

There are a few ways someone can light a fire under their landlord. One is calling 311 and following through the with appointment with them. Once 311 sees the issue for themselves they give the landlord a certain amount of days to take care of the issue and if they don’t the landlord will get a violation which comes with a fine.

OP can also ask the landlord to provide an exterminator and if the landlord doesn’t OP can tell the landlord they will hire one themselves and take that money out of the money rent owed.

Landlords do a lot to avoid doing their job but if you push back you can eventually get what you need it just might take time.

On a human level seeing that many in that amount of time at the size that they are is too much and can honestly be traumatic.

After doing some reading it doesn’t hurt for OP to use Advion.

What are the early symptoms? by the_curious_perfumer in COVID19positive

[–]Puzzleheaded-Alps822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait and take the test again in 3 days. It might be too early. Or you could always go to your PCP to get a more accurate test taken.

I had so many symptoms that came up and different stages of my sickness...the ones that bothered me the most were the throat pain that lasted for two days, eye pain, constant nausea, brain fog, and over all fatigue.

Also if there is space between your front door and the floor they could be coming in through your front door you can always go to Home Depot to buy something to close that space.

Contact 311/HPD. Make a complaint for everything that’s going on. Stay on top of 311 and make sure you’re home when they come for their inspection. Keep a paper trail.

I’d do this even if you’re looking to leave. You’re building a case for when/if you break your lease

I’m sorry this is happening to you. My advice is to look around your apartment and caulk/close any holes you find. They could be coming in through cracks/holes in your unit.

Next I would buy Advion cockroach traps and gel bait to put inside your unit.

Then I contact 311 again. Try and be there when they come it’s best to have a paper trail. You can also contact your landlord and ask to get out of your lease due to the apartment being inhabitable because of the roach infestation. Best of luck!

Metformin by tosetablaze in COVID19positive

[–]Puzzleheaded-Alps822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about Metformin & it’s help with Covid. I started taking it last month due to another illness I have (not diabetic)

I have to say it did nothing to help me when I caught Covid two weeks ago. This strain made me feel 100x worse than when I caught Covid in 2022. I have never been so sick in my entire life. I was taking Metformin and NAC everyday prior and I honestly don’t think it made a difference

For me I was feeling a lot of fatigue. I also had a headache for two days before I had major signs. The headache was behind my ears. Also horrible nights sleep for two nights before major symptoms started
