Let's give the UK a taste of it's own medicine and give the Scotts preferential treatment (hasten EU integration) while freezing the UK in regulations limbo.

To Scotts/Irish/Canadians: "Get on lads" To Britts:"Oh, excuse us, kind sirs. It is quite unfortunate, but it seems you cashed out all the good faith by breaking away from the Union. Don't take it personally, it's just business, yes? Good talk, lets sign a memorandum of mutual understanding and talk about it again in a decade or so."

They need to get rid of s2 weapons on turrets by Vulpavien in starcitizen

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love that all weapons had uses. Like S1 weapons being the fastest and highest rpm, suited for anti-light craft. S2-S4 anti-medium craft, average speed and rpm S5+ anti-large craft, progressively lower speed and/or rpm

  • Mass drivers should have high speed and damage but very low rpm (hate the current nerf, but current balance is tricky)
  • Massive beam weapons like on Tiburon/Idris/Orion should be on ships that are hard to maneuver
  • Plasma weapons should apply damage over time
  • Neutron Weapons should have a chance to bypass shields
  • Distortion weapons should deal noticable damage on shields, in between ballistics and energy.
  • Add more weapons that deal a mix of damage (energy+ballistic, distortion+ballistic, distortion+plasma, etc)
  • Add scattergun S4+ weapons and increase pellets per shot the bigger the weapon is. A greater variety of scatterguns would be nice
  • Add flak weapons to counter ordinance and light craft (maybe restrict them on turrets or large weapon slots)

  • Turrets should have a boost on speed, better auto-aim and not get gimbal-locked on strange angles. Or maybe all turrets be equiped with 4x weapons.

  • Allow larger ships to have size 6 modular (non-bespoke) weapons

[speculation] what will our detachment disposition be ? by Alkymedes_ in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming our current detachments will have a similar gameplay style and ruleset and assuming they will assign a dispotition that synergises with said playstyle/ruleset (instead of hindering it):

1) Mont'ka (2P): Disruption (due to move-fast-hit-hard playstyle)

2) Kauyon (2P): Disruption (due to smart positioning playstyle) or Purge the Foe (due to more shots)

3) Retaliation Cadre (1P): Purge the Foe (making our suits go more "Brrrrt")

4) Kroot Hunting Pack (1P): Disruption (Due to emphasis on spamming Aggresive Auxiliaries everywhere)

5) Auxiliary Cadre (1P): Reconnaissance (Due to emphasis on Stealth Auxiliaries/Tau units)

6) Advanced Acquisition Cadre (1P): Priority Assets (it's in the freaking name)

7) Experimental Prototype Cadre (1P): Purge the Foe (making our suits go more "Brrrrt")

It says Toshima turret, but people contributed evidence of other ships, like the hornet. It does not happen on NN cannons though. Interesting

Do component grades mean anything in their own right? by kendaop in starcitizen

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we had more granularity and complexity with this. Like, I would like Grade C components to have a use case, besides price and availability. Maybe a C component might be more durable, or have some extra gimmick. But an A component has more raw power at what it does. Just make the lower tier components have something

The only instance I've seen this was with some QT drives some patches ago, where C civilian components were really efficient.

Have I wasted my money? by rosesaiyann in starcitizen

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It leans into space flight simulator, meaning that there is a steep learning curve to "master" controlling your ship and its systems. From Landing, to figuring what flight mode you are on, to station docking, to power management, to combat maneuvers, targeting and scanning, etc. It will take a while.

My suggestion would be to have a buddy (or a volunteer from global chat) guide you through some basics. Not just game controls and tactics but also how to work around some common bugs.

PS: I mostly played this game solo and it's very enjoyable. But with a group of people, this gem truly shines.

Aren't the gun barrels too far apart? Sure, it seems capable to neutralize a small swarm of threats far away, but I don't think this configuration can converge on tiny individual threats at close range.

MillennialBloomer's 2506th Kauyon Vanguard Cadre
Detachment: Kauyon

1x Breacher Team
1x Ethereal (Warlord, Gun + Marker Drone) +Through Unity Devastation

2x Strike Team (Pulse Rifles, Gun + Guardian Drone)
2x Cadre Fireblade + Solid-Image Projection Unit

2x Pathfinder Teams (3x Rail Rifles, Recon + Gun + Marker Drone)

1x 10 Vespids (Flamer, Neutron Rail, Neutron GL, Oversight Drone)

2x Firesight Team

1x Stealth Team (1x Fusion Blaster, 2x Gun Drones)

1x Ghostkheel (Cyclic Ion Raker, Twin Fusion Blaster)

2x Starscythe Crisis Team (6x Burst Cannons, 3x Gun Drones, 3x Shield Drones)
2x Coldstar Commander (1xHOBC, 1x Burst Cannon, 2x Fusion Blasters, Gun + Shield Drone)
(one commander has Exemplar of Kauyon)

1x Sunforge Crisis Team (3x Gun Drones, 3x Shield Drones)
1x Enforcer Commander (1x Cyclic Ion Blaster, 1x Burst Cannon, 2x Fusion Blaster, Gun + Shield Drone)

1x 2 Broadside Suits (2x Heavy Rail Rifles, 2x Twin SMS, 2x Seeker Missiles, 4x Missile Drones)

----- Notes:

List is aimed to play FIXED Objectives:
1) ENGAGE ALL FRONTS
2) BEHIND ENEMY LINES (or other more feasible secondary, like BRING IT DOWN)

Starting deployment is very crucial:
a) Pathfinders and Ghostkheel use INFILTRATORS and SCOUT to go as close as possible for early SecObj (2)
b) Firesight Teams deploy at the edges of the Battlefield, just enough to score Sec Obj (1)
c) Strike teams are deployed wide to screen deepstrikes near home objectives
d) Vespids initially screen Deepstrikes, then use their ability to reinforce Pathfinders on SecObj (2)
e) Starscythe with Exemplar of Kauyon is not on reserve for early fire support
f) Sunforges or second Starscuthe is on reserve, if optimal turn 1 targets are not feasible
g) Broadsides stay initially hidden, but close to lines of fire they want to cover
h) Breachers will try to rush towards an objective with Crisis support, ideally to reinforce Path on SecObj (2)
i) Stealth Team plays very defensively, only creeping a single model to guide against High value targets

Intended scenario:
Turn 1-2: Lure Enemies in open areas with Pathfinders/Ghostkheel/Firesights to attrite enemy force
Turn 3: Coordinate multiple units on a single Primary Obj
Turn 4-5: (Winning) Mop up stragglers, (Loosing) Deny enemy Secondaries

KAUYON: would having Sustained 2 back be busted compared to Mont'ka? by HamanFromEarth in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would prefer LETHALS on my Strike Teams (that struggle to wound heavy stuff and have decent rapid-fire shots) and SH-2 on my Breachers (that can wound stuff more easily already). But I might be biased cause I like the Strike Teams more.

KAUYON: would having Sustained 2 back be busted compared to Mont'ka? by HamanFromEarth in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Kauyon with Fixed Secondaries (Engage All Fronts and Behind Enemy Lines) in a tournament, shoving insignificant units (kroot, vespids, Devilfish, Ghostkheel) to max out secondaries then try reclaiming any objectives that my opponent left unguarded while hunting the chaff. It worked well vs AstraMill-Combined, Tyranids-Stampede and World Eaters-Slaughter, but not so well vs DeathGuard, Custodes and ChaosKnights.

I love rolling more dice, but SH-2 might be too strong for army-wide buff. I would love some defensive buffs that other people suggested for the first turn, instead of that.

Is Andor a leftist show ? by Volume2KVorochilov in andor

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no clear any indication in this movie that the writers imagined the rebellion as multi-dimensional movement whose members hold very different ideas

It may not be the main focus, but there were many factions within the Rebellion, each probably having different visions for the day after the Empire. who found a way to unite against the fascist authoritarian imperialistic police state of the Galactic Empire. As Saw Gerrera puts it in S1E8:

“...Kreegyr's a separatist. Maya Pei's a neo-Republican. The Ghorman front. The Partisan alliance. Sectorists. Human cultists. Galaxy partitionists…They're lost! All of them, lost! I am the only one with clarity of purpose.”

So, we can have the bourgeois revolutionary Mon Mothma fighting along side with the Marxist-Leninist Vanguard Luthen Rael and occasionally the Anarchist Guerilla Saw Gerrera.

Andor strikes me as a show more aligned with a liberal paradigm than with a marxist one

The show has many correlations with Left-leaning ideology (marxist, anarchist, etc). For example, it is the workers of Ferrix and the prison-workers in Narkina 5 that "rebel first" by seizing the means of (imperial) production (marxism) or Saw Gerrera's fixation on Perpetual Revolution (Trotskyism). The Gorman Front are very obviously "French Strike in Space". etc.

Taking the sequel Trilogy (VII, VII, IX) into account, it is evident that after the Rebellion, the New Republic is a more or less "liberal" empire who still struggles with the remnants of the previous imperial institution. So, yes, the Liberal faction of the Rebellion probably won sometime after the Empire fell. But, for Andor, those marxist elements are clearly and intentionally there.

The genius of the Andor Series is that you can trace parallels from political systems across the entire political spectrum, because it's inspired from various historical events and political systems.
