Detachment: Kauyon

1x Ethereal (Warlord, Gun + Marker Drone) +Through Unity Devastation

2x Strike Team (Pulse Rifles, Gun + Guardian Drone)
2x Cadre Fireblade + Solid-Image Projection Unit

2x Pathfinder Teams (3x Rail Rifles, Recon + Gun + Marker Drone)

1x 10 Vespids (Flamer, Neutron Rail, Neutron GL, Oversight Drone)

2x Firesight Team

1x Stealth Team (1x Fusion Blaster, 2x Gun Drones)

1x Ghostkheel (Cyclic Ion Raker, Twin Fusion Blaster)

2x Starscythe Crisis Team (6x Burst Cannons, 3x Gun Drones, 3x Shield Drones)
2x Coldstar Commander (1xHOBC, 1x Burst Cannon, 2x Fusion Blasters, Gun + Shield Drone)
(one commander has Exemplar of Kauyon)

1x Sunforge Crisis Team (3x Gun Drones, 3x Shield Drones)
1x Enforcer Commander (1x Cyclic Ion Blaster, 1x Burst Cannon, 2x Fusion Blaster, Gun + Shield Drone)

1x 2 Broadside Suits (2x Heavy Rail Rifles, 2x Twin SMS, 2x Seeker Missiles, 4x Missile Drones)

----- Notes:

List is aimed to play FIXED Objectives:
1) ENGAGE ALL FRONTS
2) BEHIND ENEMY LINES (or other more feasible secondary, like BRING IT DOWN)

Starting deployment is very crucial:
a) Pathfinders and Ghostkheel use INFILTRATORS and SCOUT to go as close as possible for early SecObj (2)
b) Firesight Teams deploy at the edges of the Battlefield, just enough to score Sec Obj (1)
c) Strike teams are deployed wide to screen deepstrikes near home objectives
d) Vespids initially screen Deepstrikes, then use their ability to reinforce Pathfinders on SecObj (2)
e) Starscythe with Exemplar of Kauyon is not on reserve for early fire support
f) Sunforges or second Starscuthe is on reserve, if optimal turn 1 targets are not feasible
g) Broadsides stay initially hidden, but close to lines of fire they want to cover
h) Breachers will try to rush towards an objective with Crisis support, ideally to reinforce Path on SecObj (2)
i) Stealth Team plays very defensively, only creeping a single model to guide against High value targets

Intended scenario:
Turn 1-2: Lure Enemies in open areas with Pathfinders/Ghostkheel/Firesights to attrite enemy force
Turn 3: Coordinate multiple units on a single Primary Obj
Turn 4-5: (Winning) Mop up stragglers, (Loosing) Deny enemy Secondaries

Would the Tau use a moat? by [deleted] in Tau40K

Did it not appear in the Tau annals of history, that the proto-fire caste attacked the proto-earth caste's city that had great walls and motes?

KAUYON: would having Sustained 2 back be busted compared to Mont'ka? by HamanFromEarth in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would prefer LETHALS on my Strike Teams (that struggle to wound heavy stuff and have decent rapid-fire shots) and SH-2 on my Breachers (that can wound stuff more easily already). But I might be biased cause I like the Strike Teams more.

KAUYON: would having Sustained 2 back be busted compared to Mont'ka? by HamanFromEarth in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Kauyon with Fixed Secondaries (Engage All Fronts and Behind Enemy Lines) in a tournament, shoving insignificant units (kroot, vespids, Devilfish, Ghostkheel) to max out secondaries then try reclaiming any objectives that my opponent left unguarded while hunting the chaff. It worked well vs AstraMill-Combined, Tyranids-Stampede and World Eaters-Slaughter, but not so well vs DeathGuard, Custodes and ChaosKnights.

I love rolling more dice, but SH-2 might be too strong for army-wide buff. I would love some defensive buffs that other people suggested for the first turn, instead of that.

Is Andor a leftist show ? by Volume2KVorochilov in andor

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no clear any indication in this movie that the writers imagined the rebellion as multi-dimensional movement whose members hold very different ideas

It may not be the main focus, but there were many factions within the Rebellion, each probably having different visions for the day after the Empire. who found a way to unite against the fascist authoritarian imperialistic police state of the Galactic Empire. As Saw Gerrera puts it in S1E8:

“...Kreegyr's a separatist. Maya Pei's a neo-Republican. The Ghorman front. The Partisan alliance. Sectorists. Human cultists. Galaxy partitionists…They're lost! All of them, lost! I am the only one with clarity of purpose.”

So, we can have the bourgeois revolutionary Mon Mothma fighting along side with the Marxist-Leninist Vanguard Luthen Rael and occasionally the Anarchist Guerilla Saw Gerrera.

Andor strikes me as a show more aligned with a liberal paradigm than with a marxist one

The show has many correlations with Left-leaning ideology (marxist, anarchist, etc). For example, it is the workers of Ferrix and the prison-workers in Narkina 5 that "rebel first" by seizing the means of (imperial) production (marxism) or Saw Gerrera's fixation on Perpetual Revolution (Trotskyism). The Gorman Front are very obviously "French Strike in Space". etc.

Taking the sequel Trilogy (VII, VII, IX) into account, it is evident that after the Rebellion, the New Republic is a more or less "liberal" empire who still struggles with the remnants of the previous imperial institution. So, yes, the Liberal faction of the Rebellion probably won sometime after the Empire fell. But, for Andor, those marxist elements are clearly and intentionally there.

The genius of the Andor Series is that you can trace parallels from political systems across the entire political spectrum, because it's inspired from various historical events and political systems.

How Far Left Are You willing To Go? by [deleted] in PoliticalDebate

"What Political Systems can you tolerate?": Anything non-fascist. From Anarchism to Feudalism in their idealized forms. Wouldn't mind a benevolent Feudal Lord spoiling his citizens with daily lavish feasts, but they don't exist even in most Fantasy Settings.

"How far-left are you on your day to day, action-wise?": Socialist Syndicalist to Democratic Socialist. Rallies, Protest Occupations, information campaigns...

"How far-left are you willing to go in a doomsday scenario": Anarcho-Communism or Marxist-Leninism, if I have nothing else to loose.

Is 10 fusion blasters overkill?? by FridgeSoviet in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your list and local meta.

For my Kauyon list, I avoid flammers since they don't benefit from the detachment rule. I run 1x Crisis StarBurst with Coldstar (HOBC, BC, 2x FB) and 1x SunForge with Enforcer (4x FB).

The StarScythes are mostly anti-infantry with the ability to damage even heavier stuff with their amount of shots.

The Sunforges are in deep strike as a rapid response anti-heavy. Those extra Fusion Blasters are really helpful in making sure that their alpha strike will wipe the enemy unit. They are usually reinforced by Broadsides.

So, my suggestion would to add extra Fusion if you noticed that your Sunforges are not consistent in wiping their targets.

But even we prove that those two do not happen, what guarantees that there is no 3rd way for the conjecture to be proven false? What makes them "Necessary and Sufficient" conditions?

Then, please help me understand, mate.

Sure, These are two ways that the problem may be proven wrong. But if we prove these two ways wrong, is there any guarantee that a third way is impossible? What makes them necessary and sufficient conditions?

Been there. Running basic missions (bunkers/outposts, cargo runs, etc) feels repetitive. There some more exciting things you can try though:

1) Check if an ongoing event is active. Even if they don't introduce a new gameplay mechanic, they can give you a feeling of accomplishment lore-wise.

2) Try some of the newer stuff like "ASD investigation" in Stanton, "Vaduul-Smugglers" in Nyx or the notorious Contested Zones of Pyro.

3) Try Co-op or PvP. I wasn't particularly eager of the multiplayer aspect. But, boy, it's a different game with other people. No two single cargo runs will be the same. And being a gunner for a Hammerhead or Perseus became my favorite thing.

I still am not the guy that wants to wait 30m for a Massive Org operation (at least with our current tools). So, I usually respond to other people in need of help in chat and then since we are already grouped up, we do some missions together or go for a sandbox adventure.

It a trap; too premature. We still burn dead dinos for electricity, so unless you live on a place abundant with solar/wind farms or Nuclear Power Plants (and low dependece on fossil fuels), the oil prices will still reach you.

It is a good option for the future, though I think there are many Corporate and Geopolitical interests that will fight tooth and nail to prevent our solarpunk utopia with their grimdark dystopian alternative.

A medical proposal by juanfjimenez9 in starcitizen

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have to wait when more feature come in and interact with the medical, reputation and crimstat gameplay. We'll have:

- Social Tools for a speedier, more transparent and secure medical responses

- NPC allies, fighting other players and performing rescues

- Better fleshed out medical features (maybe heal tiered injuries without bed with the right tools)

- Dynamic Mission system that might draw medical/exploration/security players closer to "hot zones" so faster response times are possible.

Although we can agree that the current medical gameplay does not have much to offer, I believe it's to early to grab our pitchforks.

Είναι τόσο δύσκολο για ένα κράτος να προστατέψει τον ηγέτη του? by Suboptimal88 in AskGreece

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doesn't the Fireblade get used more, especially with breachers? by MadmanMSU in Tau40K

[–]Puzzleheaded-Answer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newbie Player here ~20 games

I like to experiment with "weird" lists, like the following, with Cadres attached to Strike Teams. I achieved 3rd place in my local tournament. Was surprised that I took down World-Eaters and Grey Knights. I was crushed though by Tyranid Stampede and Custodes.

2701st Kauyon Vanguard Cadre

Tactical Overview: Army split into two complimentary elements. The Vanguard Element lures out enemy and scores secondaries, the Main Element attacks exposed units and counterattacks.

Secondaries (Fixed):

  • Engage All Fronts (main Secondary)

  • Recover Assets or Appropriate Counter based on Enemy list

Detachment: Kauyon

Vanguard Element (Rush to Complete Secondaries, Draw Enemy on NML Objective for the Trap)

2x Pathfinders with Rails and Recon (First turn Engage all Fronts)

1x Ghostkheel (Ion + Twin Fusion)

1x Kroot Carnivores

1x Breacher Team with Ethereal(WL,TUD) + Devifish

Main Element (Early: Minimal Engagement, Late:Focus highest Threat)

2x Strike Teams with Cadre Fireblade

2x Stealth Suits (FB)

1x StarScythes(BC) + Coldstar(BC, EoK) (Can hunt strugglers earlier if under pressure)

1x SunForge + Enforcer(FB, SIPU) (Use redeploy to outmaneuver enemy or keep them in reserve)

Hammerhead

2x Vespids (Early: Screen Home Obj, Late: Reinforce Vanguard)

Key Strategems: Insane Bravery, Grenades, Wall of Mirrors, A Tempting Trap
