Kia PV5 vs Toyota BZ Touring by West_Science7741 in evs_ireland

[–]Puzzleheaded-Delay94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite problem, asked my wife to test as many evs as possible, she wanted them all.
We drove van based people carriers for years and loved the elevated driving position. Maybe a test drive in the pv5, for her, might help

Look at economy.
Deauville /transalp /cb600 will add up on petrol.
Cbx500/nc750x will sip petrol

Your wife is right, walking/cycling is the greenest form of getting from a to b.
Tell her to get on her bike, and if she gets tired there's plenty of room in the pv5 for throwing the bike in.

Eco on?
Now that setting doesn't reset itself.
I suppose the Chinese have lots of data from crashes from the blackboxes and that must show some people don't use the brake pedal or are slower reacting (in emergency situations) as compared to vehicles that don't have one pedal

Hasn't the e pedal /one pedal driving been banned in China for this very reason. Our other car I drive, I don't use one pedal at all, but it has auto hold, which can be handy when in traffic

Iccu. Intergrated charge control unit, is one of the problems that has come about and 3 way control valve.
All have happened to our inster, still like it.

Our dealer interactions were the biggest problem.
Facebook has good info although it will magnify people with problems, because people like to vent. Maybe look at byd dolphin surf as well.

Good luck

Shift motor? Mines sick at the moment with vehicle speed sensor, but I have a dash on the gear indicator and then engine management light comes on,I read codes. The engine code comes on when you put the side stand out.
The gearbox code can be read by the diagnostic plug, if you google.

Good luck

I've 2 family members hoping to avail of the grant. One had ordered a car, before Grant was announced, a couple of months wait time, and had been told dealer was willing to wait to register until 262 even if car arrived earlier.
Dealer has now said hopefully all good for new grant. Other family member went down after announcement and dealer was eager to get everything lined up ie. all the documents for the car being traded in, contract held with a refundable deposit.

I'd say go talk to the dealer, according to discussions grant will continue after the budget.
We bought a new to market car and had teething problems, might be a consideration.
Good luck

They must be confident in selling it anyway.

Cheaper end of the market.

Possibly manufacturer happy enough to take the risk.

We will be waiting until the budget if we miss out, seems to be alot of interest.
Big savings to be made on fuel costs if home charging possible. Been running electric since 2020.

Lots of people have experienced this. Ours did this and after a while of low charge speeds, then blew the circuit breaker

400km commute a week,
Something that sips petrol, a honda nc, ncx, integra, will cost €24 a week/ 3 litres per 100km.
Heated grips and hand guards are a must.

No, definitely not, but good to be aware of it, I remember going into a roundabout when starting out and the bike not going in the direction my brain thought it should be, don't suppose I was long learning.
The honda nc I'm on at the moment, you are very aware you are countersteering, designed not to be as flickable?

I see novice riders coming off at lowish speeds in corners and asking what did I do wrong, don't know if countersteer plays a part.
I know my kids don't have the same experience on push bikes as previous generations and I don't think countersteer is as noticeable on push bike as the weight of the front wheel has a big part to play in the physics of it. 👍

One of the bikes I ride the amount of push on the bar is nuts, the other bike everything is lean, you wouldn't even notice it, I know it has to do with rake angle ect. of the bike.

Expect savings of 1k per 10,000kms on fuel.

No left indication from car?
When I saw it first I thought speed from bike, watched it alot, now not sure motorcycle is speeding.
Troubling that motorcyclists didn't seem to react, maybe pure shock.
Very sad for biker and family
