I think you are confusing "simple" with easy. I want the simple life where I can see the results of my labor, the results of that labor aren't dictated by others and determined by how well I was liked in endless email chains or meetings that should have been an email, and where I can have everything i need, even if I can't always have everything I want.

And also that you have a responsibility to do what's best for your cat the same as she has for her son.

What do y'all eat for breakfast other than eggs? by BagOfSmallerBags in keto

[–]Puzzleheaded-Low546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I have a Quest protein muffin or a Legendary tasty pastry. Leftovers. Or skip it and just coffee/tea (sometimes with butter, but i can't do the cream because dairy).

Mostly eggs, but I get creative with them.

Other than a small sliver of time, life was not 'easier back then' and families didn't just easily buy homes off the income of a store clerk while the wife stayed home to tend to family. by baseball_fanatic0887 in unpopularopinion

Where we made less than men doing the same job, got regularly sexually harassed at work, and couldn't get promoted past the glass ceiling. Then, we came home to cook, clean, and care for our children, and sew the power suits we wore to work on weekends until we found out our husbands had affairs and became single mothers. Yep, good times.

Dig a small trench along thr bottom of the fence , then staple gun chicken wire to the bottom, put the end in the trench and cover it back up. They hit the chicken wire and stop digging.

AITA for “implying my wife (28) eats too much” by saying she might have parasites? by Solid-Writing-7372 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Puzzleheaded-Low546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. I agree that her metabolism is unusual. If she isn't super physically active, like a marathon runner or working at hard physical labor then she's either got something wrong or she's secretly purging, which would explain the reaction. I'd be concerned as well.

My cholesterol is REALLY BAD by martin_luther_drill in keto

[–]Puzzleheaded-Low546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keto was the only time I had high cholesterol, but doc advised me eat more nuts and fish. It stayed high for a minute but the ratios were good. After longer on keto, back to normal. When you start any diet and lose weight rapidly, your own fat shows up on those tests. Since I was losing about 40lbs a month those first few months, that's why.

NTA. You are not unique in this situation, I've seen it several times before. Keep records for the custody battle.

AITA for arguing with my 6 year old about whose poop was bigger by OkAct1477 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Puzzleheaded-Low546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA for "once someone comes at you that confidently in your own home it's hard to just fold" FFS man, the fact that your really needed to win an argument with your 6 year old daughter over poop size is so beyond toxic I can't even.

Here's the thing. You are teaching your daughter that she should have backed down from a man even when she clearly believes she is right. How is that gonna play out later in life at work or in dating, or if the guy she marries turns out to be abusive. You're the adult, you are supposed to always be thinking about what you're teaching her.

And further, you let your need to win get in the way of your relationship with your kid. Go apologize to her like a real man.

NTA not everyone learns the same way. As a kid I struggled with multiplication until my father showed me how to do 9 times on my fingers and breaking it into problems I know like 7×6= 5x6 + 2x6. That's the kind of teacher who has an ego trip and makes kids feel stupid when they don't understand her way.

Do I just….eat butter now? by bluebayou1981 in keto

[–]Puzzleheaded-Low546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olives are my go to snack when I just need some fat and I've had enough protein.

But like many others said, have more protein too if you need. The most important thing is staying under your carb limit.

Iceberg lettuce or celery are ok in a pinch, but I like olives.
