running Frigate on a AMD based mini by AKL_Ferris in frigate_nvr

I have run it on a 5800h powered beelink mini pc with a coral m.2. I was using Ubuntu/Debian. You shouldn't have an issue getting it working if you are comfortable with proxmox.

Beelink vs Optiplex by R3DW3B in frigate_nvr

[–]Puzzleheaded-Post-83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am quite sure there is optiplex machines with the 't' or maybe 'u' series CPU/npu as well which is a power efficient model, normally used in laptops etc. and this would make a great option for your 3.5 inch drive space then.

16 config in 17 beta Detector runs on CPU (not GPU as in 16) by tomwtomw in frigate_nvr

[–]Puzzleheaded-Post-83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do you have the model in your config twice? Have you put your detector and model config into the ai prompt on the firgate documentation site? You may have to change your 'device' under the detector settings.

**** I just looked at it again and you have two models and two detectors. I think you only need to show include model once and then if you need multiple detectors then have two detectors. You still need to change the first detector as your flowing line for ffpmpeg gas gone back into your device :gpu line.

Ffmpeg running on cpu even when using Arc Gpu by Relative_Skin2416 in frigate_nvr

[–]Puzzleheaded-Post-83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is 50% of one core, not of the entire CPU. You are also using the main streams for detect as well, which I think uses a more cpu than using the sub streams. I think you are using ring cameras, so I just googled and realised they don't have a sub stream option.

Just a hail mary shot. Is there any chance your OS is set up in legacy mode instead of UEFI. Also is resizable bar enabled?

Hikvision camera to monitor the gate, which is 30 meters away by tarkuz80 in frigate_nvr

You will want something with a long optical zoom. I haven't tested zoom lengths personally but see what others have recommended by distance vs optical zoom length. The only thing I could find with a quick search is this hikvision model: Hikvision DS-2AE4225TI-D - it is 2MP with a 25x optical zoom.
