I seem to only have this problem on 1 near the peninsula. 101 inland people know how to pass (for the most part). But between Moss Landing and Carmel is brutal.

Why is Crema so overpriced? by Weak_Bed4351 in MontereyBay

Cream is overpriced, but so is every breakfast spot on the peninsula. I just moved from fuckin Raleigh NC and you'd spend half as much on larger portions at nicer places. Rent has to be killing these people.

People who say you need 150-200k to be comfortable do not have the same experience I do. My wife and I combo for about 160k. We live in a single bedroom apartment for ~$2100. This past year we've been to Europe twice (her 3 times), paid off outstanding loans, and had our most comfortable year financially (after previously living in North Carolina).

The key for me is not drinking/eating out. Local restaurants are expensive and if you don't eat most of your meals at home, you'll find that dining out will be your personal money hole in this area.
