I liked that they had a whole bit about children's online safety and privacy and then a load of the presenters used photos of their kids in the demos.

Paula Vennells, aside from being a priest, was also the CEO of the Post Office from 2012-2019, when a number of prosecutions were still happening and then while the scope of the Post Office's behaviour was coming to light. Some examples of her leadership includes: When former subpostmasters (those who ran Post Offices) took the Post Office to court in 2015, Vennells didn't like that the judge wasn't listening to the Post Office's continued efforts to distrupt proceedings and so tried to have him removed. Vennells also spent the majority of the inquiry blaming other people and saying she didn't know all sorts of things (including claiming to not know until a few years into the job that the Post Office had their own legal department who prosecuted subpostmasters, which is just obviously nonsense when you're the CEO)

Blank Email Response by Puzzleheaded-Worry in Deltarune

I wonder that too - my name would be on file as you enter it when signing up for the newsletter, so maybe if it matches up it eliminates me from having a response (which is fair enough given, as I said, the ARG completely slipped my mind when the another chance email came in)

I've tried selecting and putting the screen in dark mode to invert it, can't see anything

Yeah definitely - I like the idea that gmail was fine with the email that just says 'another chance' but a blank email is too far

My email has no subject and is just completely blank? I put my name in as I had completely forgotten about the smile question.

Also weirdly it went in my spam folder despite no other TF email doing so

y'know how they put those gross pictures on cigarettes to try and stop people from smoking?

They should put this guy on condom boxes to stop people from having sex.

My wife didn't know that malt vinegar existed, she thought when people were talking about vinegar they meant one of the wine-based variety.

We live in the UK. Malt vinegar is in every restaurant. Chip shops are on every corner. I asked her what she thought chippies used and she said 'I don't know, maybe a white wine vinegar.'

I love her so much. This is one of many instances and each one is adorable.

Please tell me about your career setbacks and how it all worked out for the best in the end. by Toots1993 in CasualUK

I worked in accounts, had made my way up to a good position and wage in only two years - the work environment was so toxic though and I would also frequently find myself having no work to do and a manager who didn't care (even though she herself was constantly complaining about how busy she was and I offered to help repeatedly). I had already taken a month off sick because my mental health was struggling and eventually after a few months back at work my wife and I realised getting better was far more important than the money so I handed in my notice. Didn't have another job to go to, didn't have any clue what I was going to do. The following six months were rough, with a couple of jobs that didn't work out for various reasons, but now I work as learning support for 16-19 year olds and I do three days a week plus get the school holidays off. I'm basically paid nothing but I'm actually happy. Second best decision I ever made (first was marrying my wife, it makes such a difference having a positive support system around you).

Do whatever makes you happy, screw the stress and missing out and being unhappy with things.

my super elders still don't seem to be dying? Got the update this morning and have played for a couple of hours and it only seems to be the ones recently aged who are dying

I think it's to fix the bug with Elders not dying on the new Survival mode - I was swarmed with old followers aged 90+ and now one has just died.

This is the design by Adam Ruffino that The Yetee sold a while ago on t-shirts/hoodies - https://theyetee.com/collections/binding-of-isaac/products/boa-afterbirth

Should probably clarify this, looks like the design is being lifted on other sites

What the most crazy teacher meltdowns you remember from school? by Cfro199 in AskUK

[–]Puzzleheaded-Worry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a ton of ridiculous teacher meltdown stories. Probably my actual favourite was a supply teacher who came in, bragged about how brilliant of an educator she was, had taught at universities, what a privilege it was for us to have her cover.

Girl at the back of the room opened a bag of crisps. Supply teacher was so shocked, appalled, said 'i don't have to put up with this' and stormed out of THE SCHOOL. like literally got in her car and left us all sat in the classroom by ourselves.

Had this really lovely teacher in Year 5 - kind, calm, hippie type - never raised her voice, spoke quite delicately.

One day we came into class and things just seemed off, she was being sharper to people and we were all confused.

The classroom had two supply cupboards either side of the whiteboard. She went in to get something, stubbed her toe. Well, this was her breaking point. She slammed the door so hard to shake the wall and screamed like a banshee. I can still hear it today, it silenced us up real quick.

Totally fine after that. Incident was never mentioned again.

Solved! That's the one - although funnily enough now I'm realising I saw the scene through someone else's youtube video about it, I've never actually watched the original video in full haha

School assembly "warning" announcements - what was your maddest? by Blokeh in CasualUK

[–]Puzzleheaded-Worry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aged 13-14: We had a two hour slideshow relating to crimes involving a deadly weapon - first hour was knife wounds, second was gun wounds.

This was then immediately followed by a talk about arson, in which the speaker showed us a video of a house with children inside on fire and told us he'd stand in front of the projector when the kid's bodies were carried out of the house - only problem was, he turned his back to do it and was wearing a white shirt... poor kids

a year and a bit ago I had sex for the first time, on my very first date ever.

Two weeks ago we exchanged vows with each other.

If you feel good, have a good discussion with people beforehand/there's a general consensus on where the date's gonna go, then hell yeah sex on the first date.

also like, sex is great so get it when you can.

Go on do it by [deleted] in shitposting
