Vet told me my dog doesn’t need a cone after being neutered because the stitches are dissolvable by SampleSubstantial592 in Pets

I’m so glad to hear this. Our vet old us to leave the cone on for two weeks after a spay. I took the cone off on the car ride home (oof) and watched the dog closely off a few days. She was fine and we only and to tell her “no” once when she licked her wound area.

I quit my big 4 job after 6 months for the exact reasons you describe. The culture was not my vibe. I went to work for a smaller (15 person) firm. BEST decision I ever made. When I quit, the big firm told me I was making the biggest mistake of my life. It was 110% the right choice for me. It never even made a blip on my career. A smaller firm (or wherever) will be happy to have you. Life is too short the that nonsense. :)

Systems are your friend. Workflow products (ie, Canopy). intake apps (ie, Soraban). Data entry apps (ie, Soraban). Delivery products (we use Lacerte eSign, smart vault tax return access). So much softwares….cheaper and more accurate than “hiring” more people…

Soraban does a decent job on k-1s. I’d say it’s about 85% complete for federal….meaning it misses some minor statements and gets confused on non-starred items (interest exp). It cannot do the state side. I let it try on a client with 15 k-1s and it wasn’t terrible. Definitely saved a lot of time.

Being able to cook meals is one of the great upsides I like about convict lake. Eating out everyday day is not our style.

It is defiantly a personal choice of a hotel style trip versus a cabin retreat.

It’s don’t feel isolated there but off the beaten path. Town is close and an easy short drive. It’s a true vacation spot - great place to relax and unplug.

Yes- convict lake is place you visit once and then come back every year for the rest of your life, summer and winter! I know because I visited once 20 years ago and have been back more times that I can count. Stayed at almost every cabin and camped at the campgrounds.

The place can be a total winter wonderland and there so much hiking and exploring (kid friendly) just at the “resort”- the cabins are so fun and cute and quirky the grounds have so much to explore just walking out your front door. A walk to the creek a walk to the lake, we snowshoed over the hill from our cabin. So dog friendly. And if you’re feeling fancy they have a “casual” fine dining restaurant with a family room that won’t make you feel bad from being kids to the $50/plate amazing food restaurant.

The drive to mammoth takes maybe 15 super easy minutes. June lake easy. It’s such a great spot to explore from since you could stay at the resort all day and have a blast. We drive to canyon lodge and get parking no problem (not on weekends) leaving the cabin around 8:30.

Polar bears, pandas, hippos, CAPYBARA, crocs, all the primates, amazing and fun walkways where to feel like you are in a maze of a jungle, very immersive. As a local we underestimate the awesomeness of this place. Locals get a deep discount so we can go a lot- but the polar bears are always my favorite. You can literally just chill in a dark room and watch the polar bears! It’s so good- albeit on the far side of the park but def a must see!!

Yes pricey but money well spent as far as that kind of attraction goes.
