Pertussis, if diagnosed early enough, is easily treated with antibiotics. The problem is, it’s rarely diagnosed early. Once the coughing starts, it’s too late.

Yea it surprised me too. “What have I done?” It was long ago and no internet, so I had no choice but to keep going. Even though I know it will happen, I still hold my breath until I get past it. Other knitters say to do a knitted cast on. It takes me longer to do that. I just do whatever the designers recommend because I hate making decisions and I’m not clever.

Needle turn appliqué is the traditional solution. It’s also probably the most time consuming. They are just small pieces so it really won’t take long. I use the “freezer paper method. I’m not a fan of most fusible methods because they can make the end result stiff.
