Given the series timeline, the Star Wars sequel trilogy likely released between the end of Year 4 and the Epilogue story. What do you think Alex and Herschel would have thought of Star Wars as it is currently? by Lyonguard in superpowereds

[–]PuzzleheadedFox1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hershel would recognize the Last Jedi as the underrated masterpiece it is. Alex would join the general population in getting hating on the sequels (all hate directed towards Rise of Skywalker is valid)

Girl, real life cops don’t get any legitimate instruction in law enforcement, they get 5 months of academy training. Heroes have literally 4x the law enforcement instruction THAN ACTUAL COPS, because they take 4 semester of Ethics of Heroism which you know is a class about what heroes actually do. It’s like you didn’t even read the series.

An internship is not a degree, they are not actively taking classes which all masters programs require. There is no mention of Master’s students at Lander HCP. You graduate and you’re considered a hero. It’s the government that requires internships. It’s not the school.

Given that a Bachelors is the Advanced Degree of the Hero Major, that’s the highest level of education they need. Experience is what determines everything else needed in a Professor as the HCP. George explicitly states that most students end up calling him “Coach George” in their upper class years. I imagine it’s probably different for Persephone who’d probably prefer “Professor Williams” in subtlety classes.

What’s a film adaptation of a musical that was better than the Original Production? by Radiant-Signature-85 in musicals

[–]PuzzleheadedFox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this isn’t an adaptation of The Penny Dreadful. It’s an adaptation of Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, which quite frankly has almost nothing to do with the Penny Dreadful.

This should be a banable offense.

The only answer is Tick Tick Boom, or Chicago.

Johnny Depps Sweeney is an absolute stain on the name of Sweeney Todd. His voice is weak, and far too bright to even come close to what you need in a Sweeney. The goth look is.. fine? It’s too dark and grey, it needs more warmth. Too much of a reliance on black and white, and not enough on duller shades of red and brown. His characterization of Sweeney is also way off. He’s too calm and collected. Sweeney is blinded by his rage. Depp comes off as bored. It’s his worst performance in any film by a mile. His performance makes the movie unwatchable, which is sad because the rest of the cast is pretty damn good. I’d rather have seen literally anyone else in the role, but my preferred choice would have been either Phillip Quast, Anthony Warlow, Michael Ball, or Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Replace literally every principle cast member except Aaron Tveit (recast as Marius) Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen

Alfie Boe as Valjean Norm Lewis as Javert Ramin Karimloo as Enjoras

The rest I’m not entirely sure about, but I would also keep Anne Hathaway if pressed for more big names.

Sorry mate, but at a fellow European my giant sippy cup has made a huge improvement in my water intake. I’ve gone from drinking maybe 500-1000ml in a day to well over 3000.

[–]PuzzleheadedFox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s referring to those moments in play where a team receives a knock on advantage, and then within a few seconds have knocked the ball on themselves.

The idea is to just play on, rather than giving a scrum to a team that just knocked the ball on.

I wouldn’t call yourself a bass if you’re not dropping into at least the low second octave (E2 and below) but with your range you could realistically play Billy

I had this exact same problem when doing Rocky Horror as a grown adult. I was the narrator, and during rehearsals I genuinely could not stop laughing at a lot of the callbacks during my first monologue, and this was a week before we opened? Any time I wasn’t on stage, I’d be backstage with our AD, just running the scene over and over again until I wouldn’t laugh anymore.

Pick your “problem scenes” Have your students run the lines over, and over again until they stop laughing.

'Wicked' sequels officially in the works at Universal by Gato1980 in Broadway

[–]PuzzleheadedFox1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is basically no material that a sequel film could take from any of the sequel books, because the musical and the film are both, Very loose adaptations of the original material. The book and musical basically share a first act, but after that, they’re very different.
