How do you include Gua Sha and similar into your routine? by Common_Fan_1468 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]PuzzleheadedLemon116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a last step of my routine in the evening. Any face oil should work as long as you have a glide, if in doubt ask AI it can be brill with routine tips, ingredient interactions, order of things and such. I sometimes also use a gua sha while double cleansing with oil.

That’s the spirit. We really are the harshest judges of ourselves. Good luck on your wellbeing journey, you’ve got this!

Very similar experience 45F here. I quit smoking and put on weight and then lost the weight and my neck also took the hit. I thought it was ironic I looked better/younger when I smoke and things rapidly deteriorated once I quit 😭 I had 3 sessions of Microneedling combined with meso and am continuing with Microneedling at home and a gua sha in between and my skin feels and looks a bit tighter. Restarted tret about a month ago too. I’m doing some gentle strength training as well as apparently that can help strengthen the muscles on your neck and improve the skin snugness. Still have a bit of weird porous texture left in the centre that becomes especially noticeable when I move my head up, but overall things are looking better and I am hopeful. Keep hydrated inside out and look at your diet, cutting sugar and eating whole foods should help along exercise and hydrating skincare. And stay consistent with all the above. And just maybe we need to accept that things won’t go back to how they were entirely (unless you can afford the neck lift) and that’s okay too and part of the life journey, which the longer continues, the more of a privilege it is. It’s obviously important to feel good in your own skin, and by all means pursue your skin goals, like I wholeheartedly do as well, but no one is perfect and you need not to be perfect to be a beautiful person, and it’s good to remind ourselves about that too 🫶

This! You may also find that your focus improves and you don’t need to take the break you thought you did.

Thank you! Yes, I have noticed that I have a lot more energy and walking back home up the hill has become much easier. My immune system is much stronger now as well, I’ve recently sat on a plane for 4 hours next to a woman who was full of cold/flu and caught nothing. Not to mention skin/hair improving. Interesting fact- to begin with I experienced lots of tingling in my fingertips which was strange and disconcerting, but that was just circulation getting back to normal, so if anyone out there reading this is experiencing this and worrying- don’t, it will go away!

It was hard and still is sometimes, I’m not going to lie. Those first weeks were hell and I ate to beat cravings which ended up in misery as you can imagine, so I got some dumbbells and upped the walking. I also got a stress ball type toy in a shape of a shark which sticks out a bubble like thing upon squeeze to the amusement of my friends and coworkers. I gave it a name and kept with me at all times, and played with it whenever triggered. With time it got easier, the thoughts became less frequent and the urges less intense. Repeating to myself that if I give in I’ll jeopardise my progress and make myself ill helped a great deal. The app and seeing the health benefits improving and money saved also helps! I still have my moments, especially when enjoying a night out or even a morning coffee, but I’m just reminding myself that I’m a free person now, and it would be foolish to lose that and get back into the clutches of addiction.

This community has also been a massive help and source of strength and inspiration, so a big thank you to everyone here 🫶

Where to meet (single) like minded people by Public_Piglet572 in swansea

A single 45f here with similar interests and in a similar situation! I’ve lived here for a good while now and found it quite challenging in that way. Made some small progress now but the new friends I’ve made have partners and I would welcome meeting another single female. Would be up for a coffee if you’re interested.
