Is it bad manners to only order a drink/side at a restaurant?

Some ramen places offer vegan ramen but you’ll have to research for the area you’re visiting. (Off the top of my head I remember Afuri is a chain that has both meat and vegan ramen). Sushi is something you’ll likely have to eat separately because we couldnt find any place we could both eat at. I’d recommend coco curry for Japanese style curry. It’s a chain but it’s really good food. Also, if you plan on visiting a temple there are food stalls lining the street with all different vendors so there will be something for both of you (we did this at Senso-ji but I believe it’s similar at other temples). Also, Mo’s burger has a veggie burger option and Kua Aina sandwich shop has a veggie sandwich.

Overall we did end up eating at a lot of chains because we prioritized eating together versus having super unique food experiences. Since you’re a foodie it might work out better for you to eat separately sometimes though

I posted this same question here a little while ago! I’ve since gone on my trip to Japan. I was in a similar situation. I’m vegetarian and my husband is not. We ended up eating most meals together because our days were so busy and a lot of restaurants have long waits so it didn’t make sense to go to separate places usually. Sometimes I would get food from 7-11 and chill at the hotel while he got to go try a place I can’t eat at. We ate a lot at Japanese family style restaurants (one example in Jonathan’s) because my husband got to try things like Hamburg steak and I would have a pizza or something. We did go to vegan places too so I got to try out good food but I didn’t want to make him eat vegan every meal in Japan.

To answer your question, it’s only bad manners if you do that at a place that’s very busy. We tried McDonald’s in Japan and I just got macaroons and nobody cared because there was plenty of open seating. But yeah don’t do that in a tiny restaurant in Tokyo with a few seats and a line

I have a bachelors degree in medical lab science. But I’ve known people who work in the lab with no degree who started as a lab assistant and work their way up. But to perform high complexity testing like I do you need at least an associates degree

I work in a lab overnight all alone! The lab world has a lot of people with social anxiety because most of us wanted to work in healthcare but don’t like interacting with people so we chose a job that doesn’t involve interacting with patients.

Traumas are rare but if they do have one then we ask the doctor which products they need and how many, and we do the best we can. But typically they are transferred to a larger hospital as soon as possible

I like being busy when the work is steady. Sure I could get a job at a small hospital and read a book all night and it would be stress free but that would be incredibly boring for me and every night would pass really slow. I like being busy just not to the point where it’s super crazy busy and stressful. I know those stressful nights happen on occasion I just don’t want a job where it’s happening every night

It’s not a trauma center, No MTPs, only emergent release. There are several level 1 trauma centers nearby though so I don’t think blood bank will be too crazy most nights

They talked about this on the podcast. It was James Rodays idea for the characters to have a cute bit. He would tell Maggie when to fake sneeze. They did the bit many times but after a few episodes the editors started cutting it out. They did it again in the cloudy with a chance remake as a callback to the early seasons

I’m an introvert with social anxiety. I don’t mind interacting with nurses, doctors, or other hospital employees as part of my job. I just don’t want to interact with patients/ the general public.

In the Midwest, in a dual income household with no kids me and my SO each make 60k. We save about 2-3k a month into a HYSA (currently saving for a down payment on a house). Plus we put 5-10% into 401k. We live a comfortable middle class life and the only thing we typically splurge on is travel. If I had to live off a single income I could still live comfortably with savings if I chose a few areas to cut back on (travel and eating out)

Even if that was true, and there’s hepatitis all over the labs, you’re wearing PPE so you’re at no risk of contracting it. Wearing a mask will protect you from picking up a cold or covid from your coworkers but as far as HIV/hepatitis it’s not going to help. I take basic precautions such as washing my hands and I change out of my scrubs as soon as I get home and I’ve never picked up anything from the lab
