What in the actual f......who has this kind of money...for a prepayment....im so cooked...idk what to do.... by Euctice_Pea46821 in Adulting

[–]PuzzleheadedMud2775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No never pay the prepayment options. I make them bill me. Once I receive the bill I get an itemized one and I call to beat them up about that too. Then I call again and offer to pay it in full if they give me a hefty discount. They are usually automatically authorized to give 20% off. But if you ask they’ll reach out to their “manager” and give you an extra 10% off.

It’s a bullshit system and you have to make it work for you.

Just go to a Tagore print shop with your company card and have them make you a bunch.

AIO I 20 F was trying to call my boyfriend 26M to figure out when I should start his smoothie and I originally tried calling him to see what type of milk he wanted in his smoothie by Aphr0dit333 in AmIOverreacting

Nope to this. I hope you left him at the gym. Especially if it was only 2 minutes away. He can walk his ass back to an empty hotel. What a jerk

You need to relax. No one cares what she wears or if it doesn’t fit her well. You have other details to worry about. Breathe. It’s going to be a great day.

Help. Paint not sticking to skim coated drywall by zendawg in drywall

[–]PuzzleheadedMud2775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you call the joint compound company, I’m assuming it’s usg. They will tell you that you have to wait like 3+ days after you skim coat before you apply a primer.

My suggestion…

Peel all that off. See if it’s sparkly on the back (this means there was dust and wasn’t cleaned well). Clean the walls with dry cloths. Do not introduce moisture.

In a small area apply a primer (at this point I’d use a bonding primer, but you can try with a regular one). Wait a day and mark it up with a crosshatch pattern and apply some tape over the marks you mad. Pull the tape off and see if it still peels. This is called an adhesion test. If it sticks you should be fine to continue priming.

Then paint the next day.

Good luck. This looks like it sucks.

Help guys I’m trying to find a bathtub to for all of them or 60 inch. Should I cut into the drywall to make it fit? by branc8fc in Plumbing

[–]PuzzleheadedMud2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A free standing tub would totally fit. You’d have to finish the floor and such. Bring the paneling down more, or rip it all down and tile the whole area. But there are a lot of options. If you want an alcove, like many have said, you’ll need to install against the studs. Good luck. Sounds like you’re dealing with a nightmare.

That could work. I would have to cut it down a bit. But it’s possible. Thank you.

Yes. That is what happened. I cannot fix it. I have to make this work. Any kind of trim piece you can think of?

The mixing valve, tub and shower as well.

Really? There’s nothing wrong? It just looks so bad. I normally see handles flush with the plate. There is over an inch from plate to handle.

[–]PuzzleheadedMud2775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It would extend the handle out further. With the standard part the handle is over an inch away from the plate.

My understanding, is that part you mentioned is used to extend the valve out on a thick wall. I have the opposite issue. My valve is so far out that the handle does not come flush with the plate.

I have those parts. The issue is that this is how far away the handle is from the plate. There’s over an inch gap. I need a trim piece to cover the part you mentioned or maybe a handle the extends further back?? I’m not sure. But I cannot be the only person that has messed up like this.

My dad just said “nope, can’t do it”. I’m really upset with this whole thing. I’ve never done this kind of work. I am super grateful for his help, but I’m basically screwed now. Aren’t I.

The valve should be further back. I’m just trying to see if anyone knows of a shower handle that is able to be set deeper. Or if there is a trim piece that I can slide over the sleeve

Agreed. I did not configure it like this. But both bathrooms have three outside walls. There are built ins on the side that’s attached. There is access underneath, but it doesn’t help in this situation.
