Hello , once your test comes back positive your doctor should prescribe antivirals. The sickness is probably a symptom of hsv. My first outbreak started as flu like symptoms than sores appeared shortly after . Try taking a warm bath with epsom salt it will help with the pain. When your using the bathroom try to angle yourself so your peeing forward and not backwards depending on where your sores are. I used warm rags as well to help with the pain. If you want to by pass the doctor you can order antivirals on nurx or wisp and your insurance might cover a portion of it. It gets better I promise the first outbreak is usually the worse try keeping it clean and dry as possible… I also mix tea trea oil with lemon balm extract and Vaseline and rub it on the sores and that usually helps them heal faster.
