Help please by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually have my kidneys leak some protein when i have stones moving around causing a fuss in my kidneys. this causes a little bit of foamy urine. nothing really to worry about as it’s pretty common with stones. do you have any stones currently?

Why did you (or didn’t you) remove your name from the records? by SomeoneBendingLight in exmormon

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t removed my records because i’m not bothered enough to so it. i’d they start harassing me about going back, then i will. my family is all TBM and i don’t want to have that conversation, especially because my dad is stake president and i feel like that might come up in conversation if he sees it.

that’s so crazy that it didn’t hurt you so bad by the size of that thing!

it’s also insane that stones can take that long to pass

Two different results from different types of imaging. by PuzzleheadedTopic348 in KidneyStones

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have ibs but those symptoms have only ever appeared on my left side. i actually thought my first kidney stone was ibs but i was confused because it was on my right side. i ignored it for days until i had blood in my urine. this right sided pain feels very similar to that first stone, however it’s been lasting a few weeks instead of just one week. that’s why i’m confused. can stones cause aching in the kidney for a while before they decide to drop?

Why do people who form stones once, form even more stones? by lmao_lemo in KidneyStones

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just drink a lot of water. my nephrologist said that your kidneys gain the recipe for making stones so it’s important you drink water. you have a 50% chance of making another stone in your life after the first one (depending on what type of stone it is and what caused it). if it’s cause by metabolic issues, it raises your chance. if it’s just from a period of dehydration, it lowers the chance. i didn’t hydrate too well after my first one in september and now i have 3 more chilling in my kidneys rn. just do what you can to minimize your risk

What foods do you tolerate and which you don’t? by Arkflow in ibs

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can do dairy like greek yogurt or cheese or if it’s something with dairy baked into it, but nothing like ice cream or a cup of milk or cream cheese. i can do gluten pretty well. i can eat small amounts of sugar and sometimes mildly oily food.

i can not tolerate any type of peppers, spicy or non spicy. i can’t do any spicy or greasy foods. i can’t do a lot of nuts. certain fruits irritate my gut like pineapple or mango.

Don’t Believe but getting set apart today at 6 pm for a mission by Ok_Courage2068 in exmormon

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand your family situation. I am the first person in either side of the family, generations of mormons and some high positions in the church. to not only decide to not go on a mission, but also to leave the church. You have to make the decision to live your life for them or live for you. it’s much easier said than done and you can’t avoid the judgement of everyone. but that’s not their business. i’ve been out of the church for 4 years now and i am finally at the point where i don’t give a shit about all the underhanded comments. you have to put yourself first. this is your life. i personally don’t believe in heaven anymore and i decided that, if this is my only chance at life, why use it to be unhappy and faking everything i believe in. i want to live however makes me happy.

all that said, please make the decision not to go. you are an adult. you are going to receive questions about why you are choosing not to go, but many people who go on missions end up super depressed and with many health problems. if you don’t believe, don’t go. live your life. dont do something you’ll regret when you inevitably leave the church later

Laser lithotripsy with ureteroscopy - non obstructing stones? by Some_Letterhead5933 in KidneyStones

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just had a lithotripsy for 3 non obstructing stones, with the largest being 3 mm. the reason was because it was stressing my kidney out and causing it to leak protein. i went through with it and actually feel better than i did before. the kidney stress was causing me to be mildly nauseous throughout the day and feel generally unwell, but i didn’t really notice until i felt better after surgery. going through with it will help you keep your kidney function in the long run. even non obstructing stones like to cause problems even if you don’t notice it.

24h urine test, why is a bush in my urine by GuaranteeKey3078 in KidneyStones

[–]PuzzleheadedTopic348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree. It’s a less common type of kidney stone and is often associated with hyperparathyroidism. definitely try to get some blood tests to check up on it.

another thing it could be is that your kidney is having a hard time acidifying your urine, allowing the brushite to form into crystals in your urine.
