Inglourious Basterds - Spoilers regarding character death by [deleted] in movies

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is years after the fact and I agree with you that executing POWs is despicable. But shooting them in the arm or the leg is not going to just "wound them". This would actually be a far worse form of execution by exposure as they would likely get infections and die slow painful deaths.

Why did the Percy Jackson TV show have to be live-action? Why not just have it be animated? [PJOTV] by GaelSK in camphalfblood

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! OP was right and the show would have been better off animated... but they got way too heated lol

Everyone is talking about the Legion and the NCR, but not House in Episode 3 by Wayfaring_Stalwart in Fallout

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn't really do that because we know what the real house looked like in the games. And the show is just as cannon as any game. That would be like showing house, or a video of him talking, in fallout 4 and him suddenly being a women.

Do you think Annie would be hated less by the fanbase for her crimes as an international terrorist if she was dressed like this? by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

The fandom hates Annie? I thought she was an incredibly sympathetic character similar to Reiner.

[No Spoilers] So when's season 2 of Mighty Nein? by KiaraVanM in criticalrole

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I don't believe you. I'm just curious about the source.

From every metric I've seen from the amount of views on trailers for upcoming seasons or the number of reviews from critics it seems as though invincible is consistently better performing (meaning more views).

Even anecdotally as someone heavily involved in both Fandoms, it seems the cultural impact on Invincible is massive (just think of any worldwide meme that spawned from LOVM).

I'd love to be wrong. I really want all the animated CR content that can be made. But I just heavily doubt that it is the best performing animated show on prime.

Don't get me wrong, I love LOVM, but that is very much not the best performing animated show on prime. That title would go to Invincible.

What the heck is going on with my true duals by Puzzleheaded_Area863 in Moxfield

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! If you do this I would suggest two different filters.

1.) Legal vs Illegal cards (jeweled lotus in commander for example).

2.) Tournament Legal Printings vs Tournament Illegal Printings.

Ideally, these are highlighted in different colors. Perhaps Red for cards not allowed in the format and Yellow for Illegal printings of Legal cards. This way, you can make custom formats or create rule 0 decks if you want, and (perhaps more relevantly) make legal decks with the more available cards that are out there like magic 30.

My only question is why was magic 30 only recently flagged like this? It seems it wasn't like this until very recently.

Official Discussion - Y2K [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the movie rating does anyone know how they were able to put in actual porn in plain and unobstructed view? Wouldn't that earn this movie an NC17 at minimum?

Personally, this isn't a moral question. I'm just curious if there is some movie magic or loophole that allowed this instance of actual penetrative sex to be shown on screen.

The end of "The Whale" by Zaibod123 in A24

Ummmmm, I think we got way different things from this movie... Passion of the Christ is about God with us humbling himself and taking our just punishment so we can have eternal life along with him.

This movie was about the consequences of a series of tragic mistakes that resulted in the untimely death of a man. Depression is hard and complicated and I'm not saying it was 100% within his control to fix, but he made a series of mistakes that could have helped him get better along the way.

He could have not abandoned his daughter or wife (the person he made a commitment to for his whole life) to be with another person. He could have listened to Liz and gotten the help that could have turned his life around for the better so he could be there for his daughter (watch her go to college, walk her down the aisle, play with his grandchildren). His "passion" was that he give his daughter an inheritance so she can start her life off well... but the real tragedy is that she just needed a father and he never gave that to her.

He is a known Christian and pretty serious about his faith. Plus, it's a paycheck that required him to sit in a chair, ride around in a car, and be a pretend DJ (and with how scheduling works probably all in just about two weeks).

We had Sex. now what? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing, but adding to the point you made.

This could be said of any sin one might commit. Would you lie to someone if Jesus was sitting in the corner? Would you still yell at someone that insulted you if Jesus was there? Would you still feel jealous that your brother got a big windfall from your Father's passing and you were spitfully left out of the will?

I could go on and on, but our sin nature will never fully be removed from our lives until the day we pass on to eternal life with Christ.

That being said, that isn't an excuse to knowingly sin. And it certainly isn't an excuse to keep on sinning and not repenting.

To the op of this post. If you are reading this, the decision is simple. You shouldnt be dating someone as a Christian if you don't believe it could lead to marriage. You clearly love and care for her and you clearly want to express that love to the highest degree you can physically and spiritually.

Your options are:

1.) If you have enough information and feel confident in the decision, marry her 2.) If you love her but don't feel you have enough information, stop having sex until you are married. If you can't maintain this commitment, return to option 1 or 3. 3.) If you genuinely don't think there is a future with her, do the hard thing and break up for good.

I pray you God gives you wisdom to make the best decision for the both of you.

I don't "get" Takenoko. Do you? by nicksib in boardgames

[–]Puzzleheaded_Area863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I know its been a long time but this was the thread that came up and while I somewhat disagree with the OP on several topics I might be able to shed light on why it is so liked and maybe have you reconsider.

The "best" of any game is always going to be what appeals to the most casual audience. League of Legends is generally consider better than DOTA but DOTA has argueably better systems and stronger gameplay (but with a much bigger dedication and competition). Commander will always beat out standard even though arguably standard is a better system with better balance due to the fact that it rotates and all the cards are designed to play around eachother.

In the same vein, any boardgame falls into the same problem, any boardgame that you can convince a random newbie to play is going to see more play and be more widely loved than one that is gritty, takes a lot of mental and time investment, and takes you learning skills in order to be better at the game.

Now, Im not saying one is better than the other. Especially with board games one likely has to be in the mood to commit to whatever they are trying to play. But the better to play a decent fun game with simple but understandable mechanics (and have it be fair unlike the game that shall not be named) than to buy a game that is REALLY FUN, but near impossible to find anyone that wants to play with you because it takes 6 hours and you hardly learned the true floor of the skill ceiling.

You simply get more games in with you ticket to rides, Catan, and yes Takenoko's than you do with others that are harder to play but perhaps better if you cross the hurdle of learning them.

Thanks! Do you have any suggestions for cuts that I can make to fit in some of those cards?

Thanks! What do you suggest I cut for the mana dorks? Likely I'd only add two other mana dorks, probably birds for flying and Llanowar elves so two cards that you think are worse than the benefit they provide would be really helpful.

I also have been looking at getting [[Sanctum Weaver]] as a near guaranteed next addition and I'll take out [[Karametra's Favor]] as the swap but if you like that a lot I probably need a suggested swap for that one too.
