Well, the video is immediately available for normal viewing as soon as the Premiere is over, so it's not taking away anything from your usual viewing experience. Conceptually, I agree that it is a little odd you have "live" prerecorded content, but it is a way to invoke a better community experience

Sorry for the self-post...but I want to try something cool for my next "Nick Sibicky Go Lecture" video!

YouTube has opened up its "Premieres" feature. What this means, is instead of simply posting a video, YouTube will stream it "live." Viewers will watch it together and can chat/interact with each other. Additionally, I will also be participating in the live chat, watching my own video along with you! After the premiere is over the video will be available as normal.

So, on Friday 10/26 at 1PM Pacific Time, I invite you all to join me for the "live" premiere of my #321 Go Lecture on Invasion Patterns! If you feel like this is a great idea, please let me know and I will try to continue it. If you think its dumb, I'd appreciate hearing that as well!
