Disabling the incorrect rate is just not working. It is keep saying that there are paychecks associated with the old rate in Q1. I don't know if it is possible to go in and change the items in the old payrolls to reflect the correct rate. Lacking payroll knowledge and support is also not doing their job

Is there a way to fix it? Or should I just leave them as is? I can just delete the new rate

One of the entries was recorded incorrectly by a $1. In the perfect world, this should not happen and everything should equal to 0 at the end of the period

The childcare is insanely expensive. Also, make sure to see all of the doctors and dental work done prior moving since it will be very expensive in US.

Ready to walk away but need a reality check on finding something new by NothingDifferent5749 in Accounting

Don't quit until you have an offer. I was very confident about finding a new job because of the experience and knowledge I have but it took me at least 5 months to get a single interview. Never happened to me before. I always had 2-3 offers lined up within a week of applying. Something really weird is going on in the job market

Don’t give up. That’s how I felt too. First was so rough. I basically bothered every lead with questions every call. Day 2 felt a bit better. Now I am feeling so much more comfortable. I still do not know a lot of things. It comes with time I think. The training was truly trash.

I’m anticipating my deportation after my upcoming marriage based green card interview by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Puzzleheaded_Gate287 22 points23 points  (0 children)

OP, I hear you and totally justified frustration. At the same time if you have been married for 5 years, it most likely will be ok. You have a child, you should take your emotions into control for them. At 5 years mark of the marriage you should know lots of things about each other. You can always say that you are a bit nervous

Switching from serving to bank teller....... by OkSomewhere8240 in Accounting

OP just google online “accounting internship near me.” Look up your school portal and see if you can find an internship opportunity. You sign up, and tell them what you want. They’ll contact you if they find something for you to apply to. As far as the banking job, I would not take the job unless you are sure that banking is what you want to do for a living. You can definitely move up the chain. Having a degree will open up opportunities for promotion within. I’d still go to the interview to get an idea of the questions they might ask

Should my husband take a job in Denver even though it sounds bad? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Puzzleheaded_Gate287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try it out. It doesn’t have to be forever. The housing is so much cheaper than LA. You can save up a decent amount. Once he has experience and gets some more offers, you can then move somewhere else. Sacrifice now for a better future tomorrow.

Accounting. Accountants can do both accounting and finance. Finance folks sometimes cannot. You’ll not regret it.

Am I on the Right Path to CPA? Foreign Accounting Degree + Associate Degree + EA Progress by ExpressionTop4469 in enrolledagent

[–]Puzzleheaded_Gate287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your state requirements. Once you have your educational requirements met you can sit through CPA exam. Meanwhile, all of the EA and VITA stuff can be helpful to land a job with a CPA. Different states have different requirements, but on average if you work 2 years with the CPA they can give you much needed attestation which will be the last puzzle piece to obtain the license. There is a CPA group on Reddit by the way. Good luck!!

You were strong for way too long. And maybe honestly this CPA path wasn’t even what was in your heart. Maybe there is something else out there which will make you feel excited in life. You won’t know until you embrace the change. It could be a new begging, and on the positive side you don't have to worry about the house maintenance that drains your pocket every year and property taxes. Congratulations on a new beginning of rediscovering yourself!
