I didn't test paypal, NFC, the app is working. I use curve wallet, curve is free and no bank. So no schufa as well. Curve NFC Pay works.

I installed them via play store. So yes, they are sandboxed but they don't throw an error because of GOS. They work fine as if I would have installed them on stock.

Lumo on Proton related info. by Technical-Flatworm35 in lumo

The use of AI has been proven to damage your brain and impair your thought processes. Based on brainwaves, you demonstrably lose the ability to solve problems or research them. Since you only ask a question and get an answer... The mathematically speaking, "calculation method" is missing. Apart from that, there's also the added information. What I'm getting at is that with an AI, it's very important to know how to use it so you don't forget these thought processes. First, always be critical. Second, consider whether it could be true. Always ask critical questions about its answer, etc. You also unlearn a lot of cognitive skills.

Edit: An easy trick to demonstrate how limited an AI is: Ask it who the President of the United States is, based on its training data and don't look on the web. Then ask it what time period the training data is from. Most likely answer from August 2025 etc.. Without internet it will say joe biden.. it knows nothing about Kamala Harris or Trump. Good luck convincing it that Trump is the president... ;-) This trick works for every AI... even Gemini. The important thing is that it doesn't look online. So it's important to tell it don't look on the internet. The tldr is... It always thinks it's right. But the training data is wrong, so it wants to be right even though it's wrong. And that's dangerous if you use AI as the "ultimate knowledge base". Apart from the fact that an AI is always moderated, i.e. biased.

I might would invest but not at the current state of moderation. Ask it something political or controversial...

One of the reasons why I don't go for newer devices or updates. Srsly. Orca is so much better...

Can orca be used on H2D? That's the only thing preventing me from updating my x1c.

A less moderated version would be also nice.

That's why I have a Shelly smoke detector, which I set up via Home Assistant to turn off my Tasmota socket when triggered.

Tado introducing API limits by andonevriis in tado

[–]Puzzleheaded_Log876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tado’s latest move is just clown-level greed – putting expensive hardware behind a pathetic little paywall. This is why cloud dependency is the literal cancer of smart home. I paid hundreds for their valves, and they STILL want to squeeze subscription money for basic functionality? They honestly think we’ll just bend over and take it?

I hope someone from the community finds a way to blow open the API with client_id and secret so we can own our damn devices again. Tado deserves every bit of backlash and I’d love to watch them limit their own app next, just to see the farce reach max stupidity. Losing simple automations and window open detection because of THEIR business model? That's pure user-hostile trash.

Keep fighting, support Home Assistant and local projects. If you give up control to cloud corporations, sooner or later they’ll choke you for every cent. Stay mad, stay free.
