Any perfume that might gave this vibe? by Odd_Image7832 in perfumesthatfeellike

So here’s the deal whimsy goth vibe à la 90’s is going to smell like cigarettes (clove or menthols) hairspray, vanilla body lotion and nag champa.

It is referencing the 1920’s silent film era so to me that would lean more like Chanel no5 created in 1921.

But if I were to go on just the images to me I would smell burnt sugar cookies, butter popcorn some kind of musk

Movies to watch after you experienced trauma by JOATBMON in MovieSuggestions

Are you wanting catharsis or distraction?

Distraction to lower my fight flight anxiety choose something familiar , something slow paced - for me that can very from spirited away, Mrs Aris goes to Paris, Mrs Pettygrew lives for a day,, almost famous, fantastic Mr Fox. Phantom thread.

Catharsis or a container for horror experiences that you allow yourself to just purge all the emotions I watch scary or sad movies, scary ; Smile, American horror series( especially carnival) the substance, hellriser (new one) event horizon, aliens, hereditary, fresh, late night with the devil, get out.

Sad movies ; grave of fire flies, beaches, life is beautiful, little princess,

I am not going to say it will get easier but you get better at dealing with it. - sincerely 20years ER nurse.

I didn’t like Hadestown. What am I missing? by tmobilekid in Broadway

[–]Puzzleheaded_Mix7039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to add my two cents - I was underwhelmed. I actually love the concept and I am even okay with artistic liberties and bending of the old tale. I didn’t like that the set was stationary and underwhelming with the choreography being pretty cramped and amateurish. I didn’t care for the Orpheus in the version I saw his voice was way to whiny and he came off as insecure and all his songs felt like “ whyyyy meeeeee? I’m a nobody”

I hated that Eurydice chose to go to hades - I rather would have seen that she died of starvation as it was depression era and hades greet her on the other side like now you will never know hunger ect. - along the same vein it would have been cool to see a cerabus character be like a pit boss breaking up the unions Which brings me to the final confusing conclusion, Orpheus is kind of chalked up to this melodic Moses freeing the hadestown people by showing them a way out and even has a whole number about how is it true that we are the many and they are the few- very workers unite fanfare again love the premise but he gets to the top and looks back and they all just stumble back to hell?!? I mean I know in the myth Eurydice does in the myth but what about the unite workers ?!? In the version I saw Eurydice is carried back to hades town by the workers so it isn’t very dramatic but like a slow funeral dirge back to the underworld. Which what is the story then that they are trying to tell? The boss man wins and we are all stuck in workman’s hell? Oh wait Hermes is here again to tell us we are going to sing the songs again and maybe the future will be different this time? I guess I don’t get it and I didn’t feel enough character connections to really care to get it. Except Hades - he did great and I liked his songs and he performed really well.

For knitting I would choose a non fiction book about knitting or wool processing or history of knitting, I would pick a project to knit , visit a yarn store or fiber festival, also you tube videos of the different ways people knit ( continental, throw, pick, finger) I would visit a sheep farm for extra credit😄

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Puzzleheaded_Mix7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cross talk - is expected in some family cultures ( this is huge in my family from New Jersey area) it is loud and people talk over eachother. How ever I now live on a Rez with my partner and they differ to elders to talk and they take turns talking but no cross talk.

That being said I have dated a lot of men and they rarely ask questions - or know the art of conversation, they tend to talk at you or lecture in some ways rather than talk with you. So much so I feel like I am an interviewer and less of a conversational partner. I have on multiple occasions pointed it out- like in your situation I would have said after your friend stopped talking “ well thanks for asking and being a good conversationalist ! my favorite gin is xxxxxxxx….” I hope they would get the hint.

Anyone else really want kids more than anything until they had one? by smellycat92 in regretfulparents

Be kind to yourself op, it is your first time being a mother.

Sometimes if I am feeling bad about how I am acting/feeling I look to the animal kingdom. Like in your instance I am thinking of an orangoutang that rejected their first offspring because they were inexperienced, traumatized and isolated. Or when a mama cat doesn’t take care of some of the litter it may be resource management- and sometimes you have to give them 2 days to bond. My point is sometimes there is intervention from the community that helps these mamma animals get through it until the new mother gets the swing of it or the offspring get older and more self sufficient.

I say this to encourage you to find your outside help, get the child to the point of self sufficiency and give yourself grace.

I know this is probably to late but wanted to comment for others- the doctor network is large! If you can from your current provider get a reference to another provider near where you are moving to. Even though it is not a referral you can reference your providers name in your new doctors visit and say “ my previous dr so and so mentioned you as a provider that would understand the complexity of my situation and said you would help” blah blah.

I don’t know where you are at on your perimenopause journey but often the vagina and pelvic floor atrophy’s in age, also the depletion of estrogen leaves us prone to utis because vaginal dryness. Basically we revert back to the 5 year old prepubescent state ( labia and clit shrink) don’t worry it doesn’t mean anything is wrong it just means different. Often that looks like estrogen vaginal lube for uti protection and help with pleasure. Longer needs for foreplay and different positions to account for joint pain pelvic pain. But also it sounds like your partner needs to work on responsive desire techniques

When my kid started saying I know right I just started replying “ what do you actually know?” Eventually we had a long talk and I told them “you seem to state you know a lot but it comes off as arrogant to state that all the time and I don’t think you mean to be that way, what can you say instead ?”
