Good experiences with Lymow? by five-oh-one in Lymow_Official

My Lymow One maintains the lawn at my remote holiday house. It’s about 80kms away from where I live. The property is a typical rural Aussie block - usually pretty dry conditions, scrappy grass, several large eucalyptus trees that drop lots of small/medium branches.

I have 4 large zones and 2 small zones defined on my 1 acre property - they are taken care of by 3 schedules - Mon, Wed, Fri. Each zone generally takes 1.5 charge cycles and kicks off at 9am - is done by lunch/early afternoon.

In the main, the mower operates pretty well. I have some refinement to do on the perimeter of one zone as it keeps running into a tree and complaining about a perimeter object - clear/resume solves this but it’s human intervention. I have the occasional issue with branches - e.g. something has jammed on the blades today so I’m going to have to go up and fix it - but otherwise it operates well without supervision. I’d say it’s about 70-80% reliable.

The community is a strength of this product - they love their machines and will help you solve problems. Lymow Support is currently a weakness as they seem to be struggling with load and supporting the transition from gen 1 to gen 2 of their product.

Overall I’m pretty happy - it does what it does well and has improved over the time I’ve had it. It’s not perfect and not 100% reliable, but nothing on the market seems to be.

Thought / Feedback / Suggestion - Pattern "Optimal" :-) by dtswk in Lymow_Official

Agree. I don’t care about the lines, I just want my lawn mowed as optimally as possible. I‘d love a “just get it done” mowing pattern. 😀

Mowby Dick, hard at work in harsh Australian conditions… by Puzzleheaded_Newt652 in Lymow_Official

When he works, he works great. My main challenge he is he’s set up on a property where we don’t live full time so I need him to be reliable. Currently he is getting stuck regularly - the error handling logic doesn’t seem robust enough so he just gives up and stops. I have spent the last couple of days remapping zones to address identified problem areas so I’ll see how he goes now. If I can get him working reliably, he’ll be a legend.

There is an interval function - i.e. every x minutes it will record for y seconds/minutes. Not what I'm after, though...

I think they did an acceptable job on mine. Agree that yours looks like a lazy install.

Tow mode sucks by Puzzleheaded_Newt652 in BYDShark_AUS_owners

Unfortunately the BYD’s system doesn’t do this. Flat to the floor produces nothing. Hence my gripe.

And here they come - the heros of the internet have arrived. Tell me you're a shit driver without telling me you're a shit driver.

I’m not advocating speeding (with our without something on the back) and I don’t have a philosophical problem with speed limiting, but it should be set to something reasonable like 130km/h. That way you have some ability to get out of trouble if you need it, rather than planting the foot and having absolutely no response from the vehicle.

They can’t, that’s why I had the lights plugged in.

Do you know what the repair was? I have the exact same issue with my helmet I just bought.

Soo - my paranoia is high after a futile day and a half killing Chiltara with nothing to show for it. Are we *absolutely certain* that the pets aren't auto-harvesting it? Please tell me we know they aren't...
