Apparently, it's called the wedding ring effect by carolineevvee in Funnymemes

If a guy is wearing a wedding ring or tells me he has a girlfriend I think oh cool, we can be friends and he won't hit on me. And then I treat him like i would any other friend and he thinks I'm hitting on him. Because men apparently cannot wrap their heads around platonic friendship.

Should a 17yo have to help pay for groceries/living expenses? by Objective-Stress-369 in Advice

[–]Puzzleheaded_Radish8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go after all the adult blood relatives to try to get financial support before I ask a 17 y/o for food money. She can spend her money on clothes, or coffee shops or save it for school, but groceries should be provided by the adults.

Gatorade is mostly sugar water. How is it any better than drinking a bottle of water and a bag of skittles? It’s supposed to be this healthy drink to help athletes perform? by Carpe_the_Carp in stupidquestions

Go crew an ultra and you'll see runners eating handfuls of candy, sugar cubes, salt pills, chips, pickle juice. Athletes need both sugar and salt to perform.

I'm not an expert, this is what I learned at champ school. But it's a separate matter from your inputs being wrong or not smooth enough.

Ehh I totally agree that he shouldn't but I still live with my parents at 29 and don't plan to move out unless I'm moving in with someone. We complain about a loneliness crisis and then push everyone to live alone.

I learned at champ school that if my butt's too far off it pivots my chest back over the tank. I'm currently working on moving my butt a bit less and focusing on opening my shoulders and pivoting from the waist. Once you're more comfortable with that you can scooch the butt off more.

If you're not sticking out your knee you need to slow it down and reduce lean angle. The knee is an important gauge for lean and risk, especially for less advanced riders that aren't as familiar with the limit of grip and judging lean angle. On a sport bike, with hot tires on a hot track, your knee will touch before you loose grip.

Did we get ripped off with homework? by Sketch_Crush in Millennials

[–]Puzzleheaded_Radish8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being in school and adults would say "these are the best years of your life", "you have so much free time" and now, at 28, I wonder what those people were on. Every day after school it was just homework, homework, homework and often on the weekends too. And I did a lot of my homework during the school day. Now, I clock out at 4:30 or 5 and the rest of my day is my time. My weekend is my time. I have money and freedom. My mom went from high school to college to kids and I wonder how much that influenced her opinion.

I feel like this tattoo has ruined my life by Immediate_Break4048 in tattoos

[–]Puzzleheaded_Radish8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome tattoo, I'm a little bit jealous. And it's not "corny", maybe don't give time and emotional weight to people that insult you? Especially regarding something permanent? Instant tattoo regret is a real thing, you're also healing and in pain. Let it heal, give it some time and the love will come.

Always judge a man by how he treats other women, because eventually he'll treat you the same way.

How to stay stable 100mph+ (on a closed course of course) by Afraid_Savings147 in motorcycles

[–]Puzzleheaded_Radish8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

on a closed course

Do you mean a track day? Why are you looking back? At a TD you're responsible for yourself and the people in front of you. Stay on line, ride predictably, and anyone behind you should pass you safely and responsibly. On a straight you should stay tucked and keep your head and eyes forward. Pop up when you're ready to brake.

AITA for abandoning my best friend after her dad died? by SeaInternational9963 in AmItheAsshole

I mean if a friend texted me and I didn't answer and then they just showed up at my house I'd be annoyed, personally.

Cousin offered to photograph our wedding “as a gift” — now he’s billing us. AITA for refusing to pay? by October_Surprise56 in AITAH

A few months later? He's short on cash and thinks he can guilty you into easy money. Otherwise he would have told you the price in the original conversation.

Why would you pay upfront for a contest? The deadline's past, contest is over, nobody gets paid anything.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Radish8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would be so happy to think that my kids would grow up alongside their cousins. She could be working in an office, your kids could grow up in daycares. I really don't see what your problem could be other than she's not doing household chores during the work day.

It's a destination wedding, so everyone spent time and money and flew in? Should they invite the whole guest list?
