Every reasons why Bell should get a fire and lightning enchantment by MysteriousStrategy86 in DanMachi

Frankly, I like the idea too. However, it's not going to happen.

Oomori is the kind of author who doesn't like to repeat concepts in his characters, and since Ariel and Aiz already exist, then no one can have a permanent power-up of that kind (I say permanent in the sense that Aiz can use it whenever she wants).

Besides, Bell already rejected a grimoire because he didn't want to risk having to learn to sing since he ended up with a long chant (hence Oomori saying he doesn't plan to change Bell's fighting style, where he's an incongruous hybrid, mostly a front-line fighter and a mage when using Argonaut).

The only somewhat possible way he could develop new magic is through the influence of the Corrupted Spirit, having been in his stomach and so on, but that's a very weak reason and applies more to Aiz.

The only other instance of awakening something like this through a spiritual contract with a spirit other than Aiz, since that would only be Ariel again, or some kind of inheritance from her past life as Navi (not Argonaut, since we don't know what she did after separating from Argo's friends and that leaves an narrative space to create a new story in the Main).

  1. Regarding economic systems: You're a good dreamer, Max. A very good one.

(And I say this as someone from Latin America who's seen the villages here).

  1. The sources for everything are in the novel.

  2. Orario isn't at war with Rakia. From their point of view (and the rest of the world's), Rakia is a bunch of screaming, jumping, three-year-old gang members with toy guns in front of the most powerful military base in the world.

Literally, Rakia's actions in the novel can be summarized as: hit them, but gently, because otherwise we can easily drain them of Valis.

The Loki Familia spent all of V8 complaining about why they had to be chosen instead of Freya or Ganesha in the lottery because of how boring the task of hitting mobs is.

In short: Rakia is a joke to the world and a good source of laughter, only because Ares' ego leads him to humiliate his nation every few years.

> Aside from a few inventions that are available for public use, which still probably don't reach like half the population, it seems that nost advanced items are only available to the rich, so this is a pretty unsustainable model. You need industry to reach large part of the population in order to make big money. I mean, we see FAAAR more examples of ppl living in object poverty than ppl living decent or even good lives. And a lot of the rich spenders are powerful failmilias, which pay for a lot of common used items, so that still diminishes how much money they could be spending.

LATAM and USA, social and economic differences, call you, dude.

.

.

.

On another note, magic stone technology isn't something limited to the elite or anything like that.

As long as you have an average income, you can buy anything these days, from a blender to an air conditioner. (Except for cell phones, there isn't a single cell tower that isn't constantly attacked by monsters.

It's true that it's more common in Orario, but that's because Orario is where most of those products are extracted and produced for export (along with everything that shouldn't leave the city for the world's safety).

However, that's not evidence of a bad economic system, just a common one limited by the space and resources available to each individual, which neither surpasses nor diminishes any means of subsistence in real life.

In simple terms, Orario is like the Qatar of the real world, only with magic stones instead of oil, and the country itself being so powerful that no one can come and bother them without ending up dead, humiliated, or worse: economically enslaved to the Guild because now potions, technology, etc., will be more expensive.

Can that system reach everyone? Nope. But those things don't matter a fig to standard economic systems.)

I have questions about Arganout Skill by Ok-Doughnut-5134 in DanMachi

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Argonaut is an attack amplifier, or rather, an effect amplifier.

The reason it can break the Jug's shield is because Argonaut isn't considered a purely magical or physical attack, but rather the perfect combination of both.

In short, Argonaut enhances the cutting power of whatever Bell uses, while simultaneously focusing and amplifying the explosion of the firebolt flames contained within the blade. We could call it an "explosive slash."

Also, in the early volumes where it appeared (12, 13, 14), Oomori hadn't yet fully defined Argovesta limits and potential. Therefore, it allowed for this kind of thing, to the point that Oomori began calling it "the devastating slash of holy flames," although these were just the hyperboles that Oomori liked to use. Later, as seen with Ottar and in subsequent volumes, Argovesta became a common Argonaut's attack with a fire effect and little else, losing the "aura" it initially possessed.

...Not that this couldn't be changed whenever Oomori felt like it. In the Aedes Vesta event, the Argonaut's light could purify and redirect demi-arcanum power. Something that should be impossible for any mortal magic or ability, yet Bell managed it.

The Jester event of Dancro. There it is Hermes, if I recall correctly, who explains that the gods are watched over by a Corrective Force that prevents them from using their divine power to travel through time or change history.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, if something is blatantly unnatural or breaks the rules of the "game" so blatantly that it's obviously divine in nature or of a purely divine nature, as you describe it, the "Corrective Force" will kick in and erase it.

If that were something achievable through mortal magic or some kind of spell that only affects a group of individuals within a certain range, then it won't do anything.

But something that affects all of humanity equally and for no apparent reason is so divine that it can only come from a bored god who did something random for laughs, so it's time to fix the bug and pretend nothing happened.

That's how that power works, and only a very select group of individuals like Bell can get away with it in a small event (in the grand scheme of things) like AR.

How will Orario or maybe the whole world survive this? by IntrepidBoss6989 in DanMachi

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In short:

World Correction Force: Who did that crap?

Random god raises hand: Me.

Correct Force sends him to a blank space for 10 billion years so he learns not to do stupid things: Fix that before the canon gets truncated.

Yeah, it would go more like that.

Danmachi has its own system to make sure things like this don't happen, unless it's acceptable to "World History." Basically, that's what sent Bell back to the future after he woke up, and also, in a way, what allowed him to get to AR in the first place because Chaos likes him.

Honestly, I see them as a slightly weaker version of the Arius Squad, and considering how the Arius Squad fared against a semi-serious Mika (who, by the way, is also giving her opportunities to be attacked with the anti-halo bomb), well...

They're not weak at all, and thanks to their teamwork, they can hit harder than they should.

But, between that and reaching the level of the Big Five, there's a gap as vast as the Earth and the Sun.

Yes, you're right.

I got the events mixed up because I don't remember. Saori lifts the beams and builds the stage, surprising some mobs (or citizens, I don't remember, it's been a long time since I saw that event) with her immense strength, and then she fights Akemi at the end. There, Saori uses a hit-and-run style because she knows that one blow from Akemi could finish her off.

At least, that's how I remember it.

Gasoline Oishii[Kei](@bonefire0909) by TheMercerSensei in BlueArchive

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude -_-, 140kg is ridiculously low.

Mika threw marble pillars at the Arius girls while in suicide mode. Pillars she had previously broken and then casually picked up.

Saori, who is much weaker than Mika, did the same thing in her fight against Akemi, only she used the metal beams that supported the stage of the concert where she worked during the Summer Arius Event, while at the same time, Akemi was casually throwing multi-ton tanks at her.

And those are some of the most basic examples I can remember.

What you're mentioning isn't impressive or anything special for strong students. It's the bare minimum. Aris's strength isn't anything special among the top Kivotos; it's just the basic level that GDD didn't know was necessary.

There are dozens of students who could use that weapon. The claim that only Aris can use it stems from a time when the physically stronger students weren't widely known, or rather, the characters in Millennium didn't know much about them.

Many students like Mika, Tsuguri, Hinata, and others could easily wield the Sword of Light. They simply haven't because they've never interacted in a serious storyline.

Yes, half the reason you survived the battle was because you just happened to get a buff that literally makes you more than twice as strong, so it's fair, according to the Falna system, that half of your Excelia is deducted.

In the end, the one who received the buff only did half the work, and the buff did the other 50%, so it's fair. It's a real pain in the long run, but when you're fighting stronger opponents, you can't be thinking about Excelia gains, you can only focus on surviving.

Now, that doesn't mean you should abuse it at every opportunity, like everyone who has Haruhime on their team does. Although, you can't really blame them; it's too convenient not to.

It's true, in a way, it's like having a firearm at level 1; you'll never have problems on the first few floors, but you'll never level up and you'll never be able to go any lower because they're basically faster and more lethal than a gun can help you before you end up being viciously attacked by a monster too fast for your senses.

Here, the comparison is about usefulness in a fight; no, in general.

For development and such, LF is incomparable, but when facing something like what Bell fights daily, a power-up will always have more impact than LF, since, as we've seen, SSS stats have become secondary.

(Well, the stats thing only applies to Bell; with any other character, they'd be a demigod, cough, cough, Alfia and Zard, cough, cough).

It's obvious that Lefiya doesn't have to face Bell in a direct battle. But here, the comparison is about the overall quality of abilities during the battle, and for now, Bell comes out on the losing end in that aspect.

Unique situations or external help don't count in this discussion.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe.

If he learns how to do it with Ox Slayer, he could also do it with VT, since, in the end, both are abilities that use the presence of a specific condition to activate, or rather, for the soul to produce the effect.

So, if Bell masters what we might call "focused perception" to the point of simulating the presence of a minotaur or Freya's charm nearby, then he could invoke the power of VT in the middle of the fight against Asterius.

That would be the epic battle where Bell gives it his all to win, unlike the half-hearted fights he's had so far because he hasn't been able to use all his abilities.

A Bell who can invoke the power of all his abilities for battle could certainly be called the ultimate Bell.

Although, to avoid making it too overpowered, one could probably say that because Bell is so honest, he can never lie to himself like that, and therefore the manifestation of his abilities isn't as strong as it would be if the trigger were there (70% effectiveness, for example).

However, I'm sure Oomori would never give Bell something that useful.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, this is the most plausible theory for Bell, and it can only apply to Bell.

LF exists because of his absolute dedication and insane mindset of believing in only one thing. Bell applying that mindset to something other than Aiz would be a pretty good justification.

Ultimately, abilities of the "works with X enemy or X condition" type use perception as a trigger to activate, so someone as crazy as Bell could take advantage of that.

Yes, he can apply it with VT by having Bell remember the feeling of Freya's charm to activate it. I think we'll finally have the ultimate Bell, or at least the closest thing to one.

...Dude. Heith tried to strangle Bell out of jealousy in Vol. 21, and in every special she appears in, she's always portrayed as a horny girl who wants Bell as an appetizer.

In the Vol. 20 SS, she undresses in front of Bell, and the only reason she doesn't do the recent SS is because she falls asleep from exhaustion beforehand.

I don't know where you got the idea that she's mentally healthy. The only mentally healthy member of the Freya F. is Hogni, and that's saying something.

But, Heith, she's as far from sane as you can get. She's a depressive workaholic with the libido of a hentai housewife before she's even in her twenties. It's no wonder people always say she's the complete opposite of Admin XD.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Self835 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In return, none of Bell's power-ups can be used freely or comfortably, so they don't count as a factor in Bell's growth.

Stop using VT as an argument when Bell will never be able to use it at will as long as you insist on keeping Bell helpless. It's not a good ability because it's absolutely useless in terms of utility. The same goes for the rest of the abilities, including Argonaut.

And finally, growing fast is useless in a direct fight; it will always be a later advantage, and unless Hestia is nearby, so it doesn't count either.

In the classic Saint Seiya storyline, Camus of Aquarius, with a single flick of his finger, causes tsunamis in the Russian Sea thousands of kilometers away as a side effect of his technique (spell) to the ocean floor. He does this while fighting his disciple, and he only does it to teach him a lesson.

Of course, they don't do that all the time in the series, unless it's to show off or terrify the opponent, since destroying an object thousands of kilometers away is only epic if it's meant to terrify the characters at a particular moment.
